Hi, it's a long process can take from 6Months to 1year to receive an outcome earlier for some people. Medical evidence is key as well as adding a supporting letter from a relative or friend who knows your illness well. You can extend the time to fill in the forms if you are doing them yourself also you can send information to support your claim with the forms or individually after you send the forms.

Any other questions just ask :)

Hi clairejeff

As msBrightside says, it is a long haul but it could be worth it in the end if you qualify for PIP. I think the more information and evidence that you can provide the better your chances of success will be. I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck with your application.

Good luck

Ken

Hi, Yes you must apply. I have CFS/ME. I had to go to a pip assessment.I got high rate for care and mobility.

Here is a link to a site that may help with forms.

Hi Clare,

Always worth applying even if you don't get it first time around.

Try getting help from your local CAB. They're very helpful and methodical.

Another good online organisation is Benefits and Work Uk. benefitsandwork.co.uk

They have some good advice and forum but you'll have to pay for some of the online resources and help.

All the very best

Hi Claire, I felt just like you but felt that people thought I got it so why not apply! It took a year for my assessment appointment to come through, to be miles away and I would need to get a bus, train, tube and walk across a busy London road. I rang Atos and said this was impossible! So I got a home visit. Two weeks later, I got awarded standard care and mobility with 12 months backdated! The relief is amazing! My tip is use your worse day as your guide when filling the form and tell the truth! Good luck Michele x
