Hi, I have been diagnosed with fibro for about a year but have had it a long time. My chronic pain finally has a name, yea! Recently I have been having muscle spams all over my body. They are painfull and uncomfortable. I am on methocarbamol for them. They feel like charley horses and are uncomfortable. They stop me in my tracks, I have to stop and lay down until they pass. I get them in my legs, stomach, back, arms hands. More or less all over. It's getting harder and harder to live my life. I am bummed! Anyone else troubled by this? What do I do? I am also taking extra magnesium to help. But so far it has'nt helped.

Hi krazy-girl
I am so sorry to read that you are suffering in this way, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to these issues. Methocarbamol is a muscle relaxant. It works by blocking nerve impulses (or pain sensations) that are sent to your brain. Like all medications it has side effects and they could be causing you to endure some extra issues? I am not a doctor so I cannot say for sure, however it may be worthwhile discussing this with your GP or Medical Specialist? I have pasted below a list of the most serious side effects and less serious side effects with this drug:
Stop using Methocarbamol and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:
fever, chills, flu symptoms;
slow heart rate;
feeling like you might pass out;
seizure (convulsions); or
jaundice (yellowing of your skin or eyes).
Less serious Methocarbamol side effects may include:
dizziness, spinning sensation, drowsiness;
headache, confusion, memory problems, loss of balance or coordination;
nausea, vomiting, upset stomach;
flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling);
blurred vision, double vision, eye redness;
sleep problems (insomnia);
stuffy nose; or
mild itching or rash.
There are many different drugs for your Fibro that you could talk to your doctor about, and, in my experience, pain management is a question of trial and error until you find the right combination that helps alleviate your pain.
I have also pasted you a link to our mother site FibroAction which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:

I want to wish you all the best of luck with this.
All my hopes and dreams for you
