Hubby took this pic of two wood pigeons in our bird bath. One is Fred our regular but looks like he has a lady friend!

They do look lovely but I fear they wouldn't last long here, Mr Benjamin thinks all large birds are infringing his space and clears them off with lots of barking rude words at them (mostly in Latin ;-) ) and clears them away. The normally flee to the thatched cottage in front of mine and sit on the ridge coo-ing loudly back at him, but nowadays he's a tad on the hearing deficient side so thinks he's rid the area of them....... Methinks the pigeons are quietly sniggering to themselves :d :d :d

They probably are sniggering at him, just like the squirrels when I chase them off the nut feeder. Fred is hilarious; he sits on top of the bird table like he is king of the castle, but fortunately he can't cling onto the feeder for the smaller birds.

It has. We think the blackbird is nesting in the bush under the kitchen window. Thanks for the tip about the ball.

I live in the countryside and at this time of year as it is shooting season we have lots of beautiful pheasants in the garden. (I have no idea why people want to kill such beautiful creatures)!
