I was diagnosed with fibro about a year ago and have had RA for about 5 years (which is currently in clinical remission).
Over the last couple of years at random intervals I've been experiencing excruciating electric shock like pains in the outer side of my right foot, always in the exact same spot.
I put this down to the fibro at first, but since going on an overly long walk in the new year, I've been getting this pain every day in short bursts.
I have a GP appointment this week about it but now I'm wondering if it's some kind of nerve damage. The pain is debilitating when it happens and I've had to reduce my daily walks to stop it from getting worse.
Anyone experienced something similar?

Hi, it's good to see your gp whenever there is something you're worried about.
I get sharp pain as well as burning and numbness in my feet and arms sometimes.
I had some nerve tests done and was informed I have neuropathy in arms and legs. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia years ago and neuropathy 5 years ago.
I take amongst other medication pregabalin which helps with the nerve pain.
Good luck and hope you can get the answers you need x
I have nerve damage n experience a lot of pain n numbness in my legs. I would urge u to see your Dr as these symptoms could be something else n not necessarily Fibro. I also take Pregabalin which is a nerve pain blocker n it helps. I also paid to have Acupuncture which has helped with a lot of my nerve pain. I used to get twitches n tremors but these are a lot better since. Gentle hugs 😊🤗
Thanks SlothMode. I'm seeing the GP on Wednesday. Sorry to hear about your nerve damage and pain. I've been wondering about my foot for a while now as the pain always strikes in the exact same place and feels different to the other fibro pain I've got.
My RA caused quite a few changes in my feet before getting it under control, and I do wear orthotics, so I wonder if there's been nerve damage caused by that
