Just been prescribed another tablet, I feel unsupported at our surgery, no pain clinic or physio referral it's just take the tablets get on with it.

How are any of you that take the above getting on with it I'm so reluctant to take it it says weight gain something I don't want some of the side affects are muscle pain which is what I'm suffering now?

It has taken me 3 attempts to get referred to a pain clinic and yesterday I was told I can go onto the waiting list to attend pain clinic. What happens in my area is the GP refers you to pain clinic then you have to attend a group meeting and fill out a questionaire to see if you are eligible to be put on a waiting list to attend a physiotherapist who then decides if you are depressed or not. If you are depressed they refer you back to your GP for treatment and if they decide you are not depressed they will put you forward to go on the waiting list for pain clinic. Its enough to make you depressed. Dont give up. Sorry for the rant. All this and I cant answer your question. sorry.

Hi lefraorchard

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I do not take this drug but I have pasted you a link below to the NHS Choices cache on Pregabalin:

NHS Choices - Pregabalin

It may also be worth visiting a different GP to see if they are more responsive to your illness? Or even a new Surgery if things get drastic for you? I want to wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 16 years ago. Along with all the painful experiences I've gone through, I, also, have a physical sleep disorder and wear a CPAP every night. The last couple of days, I have been having what is known as ice pick headaches, along with tinnitis. Was prescribed hydrocodone 5-325. It hasn't helped much at all. I don't understand. Has anybody else had these type of headaches and, if you have, what medicine did the doctor prescribe for you that seemed to help?

Hi, I take pregabalin. I have been on it for two years, only a low dose though 200mg a day. To be honest I don't think it does a lot of good for me apart from it helps with my rsl. The downside is ive put on nearly 2 stones which has really upset me.

Everyone is different so it may be beneficial for you.
