My experience with pregabalin has been mostly good. When I first started taking it , it took me a few weeks to get used to it. At first it gave me a 'drunk' feeling but once my body was used to it, I found that it gave me fairly adequate pain relief but sometimes as I've also got cervical dystonia I have to take an anti inflammatory as well. It takes the edge off but I think because I have been talking it for 13 years now it dosnt seem to work as well as it did. I also reduced the dosage a few yrs back to see if it made a difference & also I hate having to be dependant on a drug & I noticed a significant difference regarding my pain. So i suppose the bottom line is until they develop something better (preferably natural) I'm going to have to continue taking it for now. I would like to know about what others think about pregabalin & how it is for them.
Pregabalin: My experience with... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Pregabalin
Hi, I've been on Pregabalin for several years. It doesn't take my pain away completely, but helps to reduce it to a manageable level. For me, it's the difference between having a reasonable quality of life or not, including being able to work xxx
I've had fibro for nearly 30yrs and tried various meds ive been on Pregablin for 10yrs and Naproxin for 2yrs Pregablin worked on its own but still got the electric shock feeling in my legs I started taking Naproxin Arthritis pain but I find together they work well with fibro I still have my off days but not as bad as I used too.
. Only problem is if I forget to take them and go out anywhere I get terrible withdrawal stomach cramps and diarrhoea.
Hi.. I have been on pregabalin but unfortunately I couldn't deal with the side effect.
Fatigue and dry eyes was the main symptoms and if I missed a dose I would have a withdrawal symptoms which it's scared me.
I did get relief from the pain whilst taking them but after a year I had crept from 150mg to max 600mg but sill feel pain.
I decided to come off them like you said I felt I was taking too much tablets.
It took me 6 week to taper down from 600mg to 20mg and it's was the worst time ever, I was so poorly from the withdrawal and I couldn't ever do that again.
All my side effects disappeared and I felt a lot better my eyes was normal and my energy levels had gone up.
I only take tramadol now 1 morning and 1 late afternoon, I wouldn't ever try those kinds of medications ever again oh and I lost a stone in weight without even notice.
Good luck because everyone is different unfortunately for me I didn't get along with it..
Well you done really well can I ask have been disguised with fibromyalgia?
I was diagnosed 5 years ago from the pain clinic. Had the symptoms few years before I was sent from pillar to post seeing different specialist, physio..when I got the diagnosis I was offered tramadol and from then on it's the only meds that works for me..
Jac How do yo take those tramadol I know they work but they are morpheme based which is addictive I have morpheme which I don’t like taking but I do may be one every two weeks
Hi.. I take 1 capsules which they are 50mg orally, 1 when I get up around 7am and 1 around 4pm.
I don't take anything else during the day.
I've tried so many different meds but at the moment I'm going to carry on on these.
Don't get me wrong I'm not pain free it's just I'm able to get the day done at this point..
Only worked when I took at the same time as Gabapentin, which was a combination they wouldn't let me stay on. Pregablin made me extremely hungry and I put on a lot weight in a short period of time. Wouldn't go on it again although did loose the weight when I come off at least.
I have been on 150mg pregablin daily for 6 months. At first it affected my thinking powers.
Couldn't remember my tai chi steps etc; but this went as I got more used to it. It has helped my pain to go down to an acceptable level. It hasn't affected my appetite so haven't put on any weight.
Already had some dry eye issues but hasn't made them worse.
I found it also helped with anxiety which is also why I take it.
I hope I can continue at this dose as I fear a higher does would probably affect my cognitive powers which I definitely wouldn't want.
Hey I’m on Pregablin for 4 yrs now, wen i first started it i cud not cope with the side effects of dizziness i cudnt even move my head !! So after a trip to Drs I was told it will pass which it did , I’m on so many tablets but still in pain so I think I need to see a Dr soon & get off them all & start again .
Hi ive been on pregabalin for 10 years now. At first i was on a high dose and within a few weeks of taking it people noticed how i looked better in my face and how i could do more. I found the pain was reduced considerably and was over the moon. A few months in though i developed a rash that spread over my body starting at my neck and thenbecame a bit itchy. I was told i was alergic to it and taken of it immediately by the hospital. I was then regiven it but at a very low dose. This gave a slight reduction in pain but nowhere near how the high dose worked. I've remained on the low dose eversince. At least it helps a bit. Now I'm waiting for the miracle drug like us all. X

Pregabelin for me it was a life saving (in the past 4 years since got sick). During painful times I've been increasing my regular dosage with an extra 25 mg pregabelin, it makes amazing difference, more than other painkillers.
I do admit that it only help to be able to manage my disabled life, no miracles...
