Fibromyalga flare up

Hi this is my 1st post. I have looked at this site everyday since August. I recently had a flare up of my fibromyalga , and at the same time needed a routine blood test. My alt was raised in the liver test it has always been normal before. Is this normal in a flare up? Thanks caroline

I don't know the reason for your ALT levels being risen however, these levels do change during the day and there may be no conection with your FM diagnoses at all.

Sorry not to be more helpful Caroline but I do wish you luck and hope your pain levels are under control.

Hi I hope your feeling a bit better ,fibro can accompany a host of other conditions ,I have it with MCTD ,which is mixed or multi skelotor conective tissue disease , just take things gently when I stopped worrying about diagonise ,I did start to feel better in my head if that makes sence , take care. Hi caroline65

NOT SURE WHY BUT YOUR POST HAS COME UP TWICE? SO HAVE PASTED THE ANSWER AGAIN HERE TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU SEE IT?

Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful that you have placed a post, and I genuinely hope that you find the answers that you are looking for. As far as I am aware, ALT in your bloods is a liver investigation? And this is nothing to do with your Fibro. I have pasted you a link to the Patient UK site about the blood tests.

I am so sorry to read however, that you have been experiencing a flare up of your Fibro, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this. One of the best suggestions that I always see on the site is to pace yourself in everything no matter what it is that you are doing! As pushing yourself too hard can make your Fibro worse.

I sincerely hope that you are starting to feel more like your usual self?

All my hopes and dreams for you

I have fibro and was found to have something else liver related when I was diagnosed. Do not want to do any scare mongering your drs will do more tests if they are worried. Alt levels can fluctuate I had other things in the bloods as well. Alt levels are normal now it's the other things they are watching. But I do know of one other person who has the same as me. Could just be coincidence. X

Fibro does cause a host of other health issues, or seems to. I've never heard of this one though. If you take pain meds with OTC drugs make sure it's okay with your gp as some have the same ingredients and can cause live trouble. Hoping you and your liver get straightened out sweetheart!!! xxx Mitzi
