Hello Chirnie,

I have been in two car crashes. One in 2009, which was pretty bad & hospital said I suffered severe whiplash and my tendons had been tore a little. Then in 2010, someone crashed into the back of me.

Since 2010 my pain has escalated. I had pain in my lower back before 2009, for a few months, which I put down to a muse sprain as I was very active through dancing and these injuries happened often.

After the first crash my pain got gradually worse to the point it was so severe it started to affect things like dancing, walking etc. in late 2010 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia.

Have you had a similar experience?

C x

No not all are car accidents, I was injured on the job when a bed was rolled onto my No not all are car crashes. I was hurt on the job when moving a patient the bed was rolled onto my foot and jammed I lifted the bed Fight or flight response enough to release my foot it happened in a split second but I herniated 3 disc in my neck and 2 in my lower back. It happened on Dec. 13th 1997 at 9:45 pm I will never forget that date. The gene can be turned on by any trauma at anytime even in childhood that's why so many of us remember always feeling exhausted as a child (CF) or that our legs felt funny (RLS).

Hi Chirnie

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? No, I wasn't, my symptoms appear to have come along due to excess work! And then I deteriorated quite quickly following a very nasty fall last November.

I genuinely hope that you do not suffer too much with your Fibro.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Thanks Chirnie

Initially it was thought I had broken one of the bones in my lower back, however after an MRI they said I had an abnormally formed bone, which had been jarred back the accident. I was in a brace for 3 months and off work for 8 months. I am now have lumbar spondylosis and suffer with excrutiating back pain daily. The car accident seems to start everything off. While having treatment xrays & MRI it was discovered I had a 16 pound fibroid and I had a Hysterectomy in Dec 2006, diagnosed with Arthritis in knees & shoulders in 2008, Fibro & high blood pressure in 2010, Plantar Facilitis in 2012 and Sleep Apnoea and Meneries Disease in 2013.

My children are grown up and don't live with me. It is now just me & hubby and my little dog. I do however run my own company and work from home, most of the time I am working from my bed. I find working keeps me focused, and I don't dwell on the pain I am in, unless I am having a bad flare up.

I think you're looking for a link, and there seems to be one with physical trauma and Fibro. Surgery, childbirth, accidents other than car but including car . . . I cant give the surveys but several posts have given an anecdotal link :)

I first experienced symptoms following the traumatic birth of my eldest daughter 25 years ago. Since then there were flare-ups and varying periods of remission until 2008 when I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. Following successful chemotherapy treatment my past symptoms escalated followed by many new ones. After several absences on sick leave I finally accepted that i was unable to continue my employment and accepted early retirement on health grounds at the beginning of this year. This has been a huge adjustment for me but i was fortunate enough to be able to attend a Pain Management Clinic last year and that has enabled me to manage my pain/fatigue more effectively.
