how old is she? She does not look very happy. How hot is she? Suggest if still like it tomorrow go to the vet. Gentle hugs to her (and you).

HI Annie will be 7 on 24th august,.she s fine with the hot weather .if outside she will just take herself down by the front gate where its all shade.she s tan so doesnt attract the heat whereas Buster who's black does and he gets hot so say to him "go and lie in the shade"and nine times out of ten he trots off to lie under a shrub .had her at the vets before and she was fine.nothing physically wrong with her maybe a fraction overweight, but she has been on steroids -every summer for her allergy.

I do Ken.i love both my dogs and they show unconditional love back.im not being horrible but No one will ever match up to my beloved Max(prolife pic)he was a wonderful dog- a great companion ,the most laid back trouble free dog ,my favourite memories of him are how he would sit outside my house and run to greet everyone he knew coming up "the alley"!.it was a street between 2 roads and commonly known as the alley-no cars and of how he seemed to know it was a Saturday and market day and he would go to the cake stall for his weekly treat of a doughnut.i now have his ashes in a casket to be with me when I pass.

I believe they can sense our energy and know when we are feeling poorly. having a bond with a dog can be very strong. maybe this heatwave has tired her? she will soon get her sparkle back im sure, my two have quiet days and look up at me with their "bambi" eyes .

annie made me smile as she is very similar to my dear sisters dog amber who she got from Battersea, she was a P.A.T dog and went to work with my sis everyday at her care home. she lived until the grand age of 19! she was retired at 10. my sis and amber were always together, I like to think they are together again in heaven :)

hugs to you and annie (and buster too) x

my Max was from Battersea.he was picked up as a stray -wandering the streets of london fro two weeks before being picked up.when i wen to battersea to get a dog he wasn't in the kennels first time round and as i lived in a flat at that time the two dog s i first picked out weren't suitable then next time looking round Max was there in his kennel.cant remember if he came over to say hello but I knew he was the one.dont know how people can just dump their dogs to fend for themselves.so pleased fro all the good work the rescue centres do btu it is always going to be a problem and it sad to know that rescue centres are always so full. .im sorry to hear your sister is no longer with you. my max is happily playing at Rainbow Bridge waiting for me.i think Annie would make a good PAT dog she adores people (staffie side of her)and hates most other dogs(gsd ??).

Hi Anbuma, I think you have it right, Annie is picking up on you. She looks so worried in the picture. I think big hugs are the order of the day, if you are up to it :)

I hope you are feeling a little better :)

hi tiredalot and fibro we have plenty of cuddles and a hug and a kiss every night for them both and every time I go out and leave them -thye look at me as if to say please come home to us/don't leave us.they have been "concerned " for a good year or more and some of it stems from when I was in hospital fro 4 days on emergency and they were at home with my brother coming every day to walk them and feed them twice a day-I would have preferred them to go to kennels btu he insisted on making the journey.it Is also normal for a dog to be off it s food for a day or so for whatever reason so not concerned if they don't eat for a day,i read thta too about not walking dog s on the pavement when its hot but don't know where.maybe on here?mine like to wander across grass most of the time.i have seen too many people walking their dogs in the heat of the day -even mid morning and afternoon when its hottest-and standing talking for ages with their dogs.tehy don't adjust the times of their walks according to how hot it is.i always take mine out later in the early evening if at all when it s hot.one woman s dog is taken out about 6 times a day between her and her husband and I think why?he doesn't need it.

I love having a dog about, they bring such joy and as you say unconditional love. If we take our dog out for the day and it is hot I always bring water and some form of shade for her. It is amazing the amount of people who don't think about the heat and walk the legs of the poor dog. Next door have a great Dane and apparently he won't eat and refuses to go for his walk when the neighbours husband is away, he must be away a lot as the poor thing looks skinny. You are most likely right about Annie, her routine being upset and missing you :)

thanks feeling a bit better tho still in pain there must be some pain relief med they can give me btu taking me seriously and finding the cause would be preferable.

in reply to anbuma

Do you find that when they decide you have fibro anything after that is all fibro and not a lot to be done about it :o

they put everything down to fibro even when signs are definitely not fibro.

in reply to anbuma

That worries my hubby, that docs are quick to say it your fibro and miss something :)

like they put stomach down to IBS when don't have signs of IBS.its said OC is mistaken for a bowel condition and difficult to detect.so far they haven't given me any other reason fro my swollen abdomen ,repeated urine infections etc.i got from gynae "oh it must be a bowel condition eventhough I told him seconds before I didn't have any bowel problems.proves in part what is said is true.not saying I have oc btu have signs of it and until I get told any different it cant be dismissed.sometimes takes years to detect.

i do same as u anbuma, I walk my girls early morning (sometimes at 5am as I don't sleep well) as the air is cool and crisp and the roads are quiet,we reach the park and I let them run free. it perfect for them and me as I have lupus and sun and me don't get along anymore :(. they also get a late evening stroll if I can manage it but that's around shady lanes near me.

they go in the garden all day when its hot as back door is always open so they go in and out as they please. :)

hugs x
