Hi fibro-buddies! Hope you're all ok and enjoying the sunshine... :-D

Quick question!!... For the past 3-4 weeks now I have noticed that my left arm is becoming more and more painful when I try to do things like...reach out for something, bend my arm backwards to scratch my back or do my bra up, and now noticing that when trying to spray my deo in the morning I cannot lift my arm fully!! The pain is horrendous and runs from my bicep all the way down to my thumb and forefinger!!.. :'( Anyone else suffer or know what this is??..... Much love.....ninja....xxxx

If you had said the pain was from just below the elbow I would have said Tennis Elbow which I am unfortunately suffering from at the moment. My friend had a similar experience to that and hers was a frozen shoulder and eventually when she couldn't do up her bra she went to the docs. They tried physio at first and that didn't work. Eventually she had an injection under aneasthetic (can't spell this morning) and she has been fine since. Hope you can get to the bottom of the problem as it is such a hassle when everything you try to do is painfulx

Hi ninjananna

I am so sorry to read that you are suffering in this way, and I genuinely hope that you can find the answers that you desire and deserve. It does sound like a shoulder problem but of course, I am not a doctor! I would get this checked out if I were you? Just to make sure that there is nothing else going on here and that it is Fibro and nothing more? Could probably tell what's happening if your GP sends you for and x-ray?

I want to wish you all the best of luck with this, and please let us all know how you get on with it?

All my hopes and dreams for you

Yes, but no idea what it is.

I've identified the muscle group - bicep too, and like you it really hurts sometimes to do things we once considered "normal" - like reaching for something on a shelf.

I find diclofenac gel works - I tried a few first.

The doc thought steroid injection might help but neither of us really wanted to try that until all else was tried.

I'm glad I don't wear a bra.

Good luck :)

Thanks for the replies!! Seen the Dr and she said that it sounds like Myofacial pain! Apparently common in fibro sufferers...:'( Popped me back on naproxen for a while to see if they help and as I'm waiting for my appointment for CFS clinic, to wait and see what they think!!... Much love to you all....ninja...xx

Hi ninjananna, this pain is I think caused by something going on in your shoulder, maybe o bit of osteoarthritis or inflammation in the cuff in the joint . I have the same problem and after being assessed by a physiotherapist have been given exercises to do.

Sounds like you may have a bone spur or a ruptured disk or even a pinched nerve. Do get it checked out. Hope it's nothing to bad sweetheart!!! Hope this helps. xxx Mitzi
