When I last saw an OT a couple of years ago ,I went to a centre to assess the aids I needed and to try them out.
Anyway I remember seeing 'chair recliners' there but didn't need one then .
Now , I have Arthritus (wear and tear) in the bottom of my spine . I find it really difficult to get comfortable on our settee , even though I've bought a cushion raiser. I have lots of pain in the bottom of my back and keep moving and changing position. Often, I end up going upstairs to lay down as its not as painful.
Does anyone think I could request a recliner to take the pressure off my back ? They are so expensive to buy. Has anyone else received one through their OT ???

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? It is always worth asking? I had an OT assessment earlier this year and I was given a raised toilet frame with seat, shower rails and a shower wall seat! So why not give your local social services a ring and see what they say?
I have pasted you three links below whereby you can look at what grants are available for disabled people to get much needed gear. The first is the GOV.UK site, and government grants:
I want to wish you all the best of luck with getting your grant, and I genuinely understand your need for this kind of seating, as I have a withered coccyx and arthritis in that area and sitting can be very painful.
