Hello Larissa

I have a step to get into the bath for a shower - I dare not lay down in the bath! I also have a long handled sponge with special bits to clean between the toes! I also use a sock sleeve which helps when I cannot reach my feet, to put on socks or tights. I also have fold up sticks for when I may need to walk a distance and rest, a wheelchair when I have a distance or a time to be on my feet that is more than I can manage - it is self propelled so I can get about alone. I also have a mobility scooter so I can have some independance, take the dog for a walk [not advised but your responsibility] get to the shops, the beach etc. I get transport one way to or from work from Access to Work and have an electric chair arranged by Access to Work and a key to use the lifts. I still have to get the toilet key for in town. My husband is also very handy helping when I cannot do things such as the ironing, but I also have a grasper to help me hold and pull out the wet clothes from the washing machine and a long handled poop scoop which is so brilliant I can go round the garden using one bag! Sorry if your not a dog lover. But I never leave evidence my dog has been there! A blue badge is also a must but I keep forgetting to sort it out!

Hope this helps.

Soft hugs

I have a step to help me get into the shower and out again. I have a grabber too to help me pick up the things I constantly drop as I am so clumsy these days. Also I have a walking stick, that I have only used a couple of times. Oh and my pressure cushion for my lovely chair, I tend to get "saddle sore" sitting down for hours and the cushion stops this and makes sitting down so comfy. :)

Hi,I'm quite a newbie on here,I have Fibro,Osteoarthritis and a poss Lung condition.(waiting for tests on lungs etc)

But I am in this section for my Fibro and need some info please..

I shall be seeing a new doctor next week ,as we have moved.

First though does OT mean Occupational Therapist ?

I have to ask new doctor to refer me to a pain management clinic, will there be an OT there for me to ask about some aids for my Fibro or can I phone Social Services for some aids direct ?.

I do have an outside rail, and taps have been changed to easy push ones,as my hands our arthritic (Osteo) also have bath rails, and another rail on stairs, plus push down button on toilets.

What I desperately need is a perching stool in kitchen,as I can't stand up for long without so much pain all over, and fatigue.

I would really like one of those pressure cushions also,as I sit often for long periods in between pacing myself.

Have lost quite a bit of weight recently and I feel like I am just sitting on my buttock bones,it's so painful.

I do have wrist splints which my old doctor gave me,and I have a walking stick,as I get out of breath on min exercise, and walking.Husband does all he can to help me,but he has had two cancers, and there is only so much he can do to help me with this awful pain of Fibro.I do have a wheel chair, but I don't go out much anyway,I feel uninterested in going anywhere, because of my conditions.

I have read most of the post on this thread, and it has been very helpful thank you.

I just need the above questions answered please,if there is anyone there to help me,it would be appreciated.

Thank you.:)
