A few months ago my advisor at ingeus told me he could no longer help me as i was in no way fit to return to work , so he suggested that i inform dwp. I did and was told to put it in writing and get a letter from the advisor, I phoned the advisor to ask for a letter and he said "no" it was not his place, I was in shock so i spoke to my dr and he gave me a letter to support me. I am still waiting after filling out the dreaded ATOS form. I dont understand do we still get sent to Atos or are they no longer doing assessments, have not heard anything back from ingeus yet either and i am getting worried i will get sanctioned, can anyone please help, im so confused x

Hi she33

I am so sorry to read that you are being forced to endure this uncertainty, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue. I am presuming that you have applied for ESA since you have finished work? I have pasted you the GOV.UK link to this below and it will have all the contact details on the site so you will be able to ring them and discuss what is happening?

gov.uk/employment-support-a...

As far as I am aware, the DWP issue the forms and take them in, they process all of this and assign an external contractor to assess you if they deem this necessary by means of not receiving enough information through the contacts that you list on your forms i.e. GP's, Specialists etc. At the moment it could still be ATOS in some regions? I would definitely ring the DWP and inquire as to how long you have to wait? However, according to BBC News last week, they claim about 700,000 claimants are in a back log awaiting assessment.

I was also wondering if you have submitted a claim for the new PIP? I have pasted you the how to claim link below;

gov.uk/pip/how-to-claim

I want to wish you all the best of luck with your claim, and I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today?

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi Ken thanks so much for your reply, I have been getting esa for nearly two yrs now and had a tribrunial last yr which i won, i also get the highest rate for mobility and lowest for care dla, i do not have to claim the new pip till next yr. Atos scares the life out of me because of what happened the last time you know all the lies they tell anyway will give dwp a call to see what they have to say thanks once again x
