Hi I'm in loads of pain which I don't understand. It's in my lower back radiating around my waistline...
Hi Flossie
Yes I get something similar perhaps a bit lower down and as you say it is like a tender band it also goes down my leg and into my groin especially on the worse side.
Hi rosewine, I'm sorry you have this horrible pain too. I've had fibro for 15 years and this has only started in the past few weeks. I had a scan to check my kidneys and thank goodness all ok. Xx
Hi flossy1
I am so sorry to read that you are experiencing this horrid pain, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue. I always say to members that if a pain is new or if it persists you should always discuss the issue with your GP, just to rule anything else out and to keep your GP up to date with how you are getting on.
All my hopes and dreams for you

Yes sweetheart. You should go to a pain clinic and hopefully they can help you. It sure makes my life at least bearable. xxx Mitzi
Hi, yes, I can fully sympathise. You need, in my humble opinion, something to help with inflammation in your spine. My lower back is extremely tender, including the dimples with the pain radiating out around my hips and down my thigh. I am taking Arcoxia on top of my co-dydramol, Lyrica and Amitriptyline. I only take my co-dydramol when the pain gets bad, but I have a lower back weakness and maybe your doctor needs to look at that rather than just relate it to Fibromyalgia. Do go back and talk it through.
I gave my doc a list of every ache and pain from head to foot and he says he finds this really helpful as my not being medically trained its hard to know what is linked.
Sorry, should say, please note this is my opinion this diagnosis. I am in no way qualified, but just going on what my doctor and I have decided for myself.
Soft hugs and good luck!
Hi Sarah-Jane, this is my first post, only joined half an hour ago. I am suffering high pain levels in left thigh and calf, RheumyCon diagnosed damaged nerve in lower back (perhaps by chipped bone ?). Found cuddling knee is a way to reduce pain strength and duration. Currently on 2 X 50mg Tramadol (4 X a day) plus 3 X 300mg Gabapentin (3 X a day) and Oramorphine 2.5 to 5ml (3 X a day).
RheumyCon directed me to University of Michigan Chronic Pain and Fatigue Research Department, and look for Prof Daniel Clauw. RheumyCon is best in West Country, and also Hon Senior Lecturer on Rheumatology. Have watched Clauw's lecture three times now, and find out more each time. There is also a lot of info about Fibro on the site.
Am GP managed, he is really onboard with my Fibro, IBS, Sleep Apneo, and RA. 18 months ago, he prescribed Lidocainee 5% patches, which have made a big difference to my life. Trick is to find the nerve line carrying the pain message to the brain, and put a 1inch strip across this. This is much more effective than putting on painful area.
Hope some of the above is helpful, 8 years of nearly crawling round at work, has been a miserable ordeal, fortunately boss is very understanding. Will keep watching for other posts, joined after reading chain with Superman131619, but can't find that now.
