I saw this pain chart and found it very interesting, so I thought I would share it with you here. I would like to know what you think of it.

P.s. You may need to zoom in to see it properly, sorry

Thanks for sharing this, it is certainly interesting. I'm not sure I totally agree that pain at levels 5 and 6 still allow you to function independently and hold down a job, unless the pain was intermittent and not almost constant.
Fantastic Foggy
Cheers for sharing

Hi foggy, thank you for this, it is very useful indeed. I could do with printing it out to take with me next visit to the docs, it explains it so much better than I do :). Especially as tend to say stupid things like "I suppose I can manage"
Hi Foggy
Thank you for this it is quite close in some of the pain numbers I have given over the years.
I have always used the worst pain in my maximum as when I had a Myelogram (some 20 odd years ago) and afterwards I experienced the worse pain ever and no matter how I tried I could find no relief from the needles in my brain, it felt like I had a load of extremely sharp needles in my brain and if I moved just slightly then I experienced that 10. Thereafter it was my 10 on the pain chart.
Every time I have been asked what is the pain I am feeling on a 1 to 10 I have been able to gauge it by that pain.
Now I can copy this and use it when they ask 'how bad is your pain today'
Take care and kindest of regards
Terry
Thanks for sharing this very illuminating. I wonder if our 6 would be a fit persons 9x
Thank you Foggy this is really good, I think I average a 6 to 7 but it does get worse when I have a real bad episode of pain.
Thank you my friend

It's much more comprehensive. I generally say 7 or 8 but on this chart it's only a 6 or 7. But 6 seems too low when I say it. I have thought that 5 was ok, but on this chart only 3 is 'ok'. I often think that the people asking will think it's not too bad unless it's at least a 6. Also I find it so hard to answer because different parts of me have very different level of pain. But then that's because I don't have diffuse, all over the body pain (which I'm very grateful for, and feel so much sympathy for those of you that do). I have a constant 3 in my hands, a 2 in my shoulder, a 4 in my knees, sometimes a 5, a 5 in my left heel, and a 7 or 8 in my right heel.
Thanks for sharing this most useful pain-chart Foggy, very thoughtful of you. You don"t happen to know of a chart for Chronic Fatigue, do you Foggy.com??
It is just only now I am managing to "surface" out of bed due to chronic fatigue & infection, yet again!
Many thanks (((gentle hugs))) XX
