I get it daily. I got sent for a scan as my gp thought i had m.s

I now get it in my hands and feet too , lits of different sensations, buzzing, tingles, prickles, pins and needles and numbness. Ive been told its all down to my fibro. Might be worth mentioning it to your g.p x

Thank you at least I know it's normal lol xx

I agree with miss_boo Nala :)

I was the same and got sent to neurology on the thoughts of MS and now get it everywhere on and off its called

Paresthesia: An abnormal sensation of the body, such as numbness, tingling, or burning (pins and needles too)

It could be 'anything or nothing' and not necessarily MS as I was sent to rule it out just as much to see if it was so please don't think it's that :o

This link gives a brief guide about it

As miss_boo suggests a chat with your GP is a good idea especially if this is a new symptom, persists or gets any worse. It is always good to keep our GP's up-to-date with what/how we feel :)

Hope you find the link useful and send you fibro busting fluffies filled with sunshine smiles.

Remember I'm not a medical professional just sharing some info with a fellow fibro friend :)

Thank you there is no point in speaking to my gp to be honest as he's one for thinking it's all in my head/depression related but will speak to my neurologist when I go back xx

in reply toNala231

That's a shame!

It's good to have a good relationship with your GP, could you change to a more fibro friendly GP perhaps? I know it's not always possible which is why I ask :)

Your Neurologist should be able to discuss it with you and is also a very good idea :)

Let me know how it goes and here's a link to our Mother site fibroaction.org and some info about dealing with doctors, I thought it may be useful for you :)

I'm glad you said parasthesia. I was thinking it was my diabetes getting out of control. there are so many symptoms around it's hard to get to grips and pin them down to one thing.

We spent a long time with the fibro just eliminating the aches and pains of age - but they never went away. Anyway I'm not old. Just immature. :P

And if anyone should know from bitter expereince it's you Sian.

Frankincense scented hugs. Are the fluffies ok with those?

Thanks Kettle :)

Paraesthesia is a symptom of many things including diabetes, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome and not just MS or Fibro it should always be checked out especially if it is a new experience or it gets worse. I get it in my arms and hands a lot and legs and predominanlty down my left side. Remember I cannot state that it is a fibro thing specifically because Im not an expert but yes! People with Fibro can have experiences with it.

I would be devastated if you experienced this and became poorly with the diabetes after ignoring it thinking it was just the fibro so please be cautious my friend :)

{{{{ kettle }}}}} Fluffies coming to protect you :) and the ducks they reckon they haven't seen you in a while General :P

Hi everyone

Yes I get it as well. When it lasts for a long time you do understandably start to worry and you try to work out what started it but it seems to be one of those things. I had it badly for about 5 days and then as mysteriously as it came it has gone again. I think fibro liked doing the Grand Tour but instead of visiting all those wonderfully sunny places abroad it does a tour of the body instead. It is always worth mentioning it to your GP though as we can always tend to blame every pain or sensation on fibro and sometimes it is something else entirely.x

Hi Nala231

I am so sorry to read that this is happening to you and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue.

I was wondering if there was another GP at your surgery that you may get a better response from? As you really need to have any new symptoms checked out to make sure that it is Fibro?

Take care

Hi Nala, I too have felt my legs 'go to jelly' and lose sensation in them. I was also suffering a reduction in consciousness when i had these episodes and was referred to Neurologist. MRI carried out, results are ok, so now discharged following appointment last week. Reassuring to know it's not MS and trying not to dwell on it too much but i am definitely less confident going out on my own.
