Had a letter from hospital today to say vitamin D is low and Kidney are not working right. Pleased in one sense at last I have at last I have a doctor at pain clinic that is doing all he can and results that explain why I'm feeling worse than I have ever since I had fibo 10 years, but also feeling very scared.
Sorry to be down on a holiday weekend hope you are all having a good Easter.
I would recommend anyone fighting to get to pain clinic has I did it worked for me has to getting help instead if always being told by GP its all in your head love to all xx
Hi Emmafairy. The good news is the Vitamin D can be sorted easily and that you have some answers. I presume the kidney thing is not so easy.
There seems to be a polarity between doctors. some are useless. Some, like mine, are great and on board - and he's not that young either. In all walks of life I come across people who don't seem to want to "upgrade" their knowledge, though it's pretty well compulsory in the medical profession. Perhaps in the words of the Cybermen, they should be deleted.
I suppose I could say the obvious one "it's time to change GP". Wishing you wellness and sending frankincense scented hugs (sorry, I ran out of Lavender)
Hi Emmafairy, chocolate scented fluffies and sunshine filled hugs to you to cheer and build up your vitamin D. Hope your kidney problem is as easily solved, Julie xxx
Hi I had my vit d tested and it came back as 9 ( I have no idea of the measurement it should be in) and was prescribed ousto d2 50,000 iu for eight weeks.I keep having blood test to measure it and it started coming down again as soon as I had finished the course so I'm back on it and have been told to take supplements for the rest of my life.the only benefit I seem to have gained is that I feel more like doing things,
so I started the decorating and forgot how much pain I would be in after which I am now paying the price for!!
The brain feels clearer but the body is protesting.
Please let me know how you get on if you get but d supplements
Hello Emma fairy, Just to let you know that having kidney problems may not be as bad as it sounds. My kidneys have not worked properly for 14yrs.since having an infection. My gp keeps an eye on things by doing 6 mth blood tests. they always come back ,kidney function down but stable.
I hope that things work out ok for you. hugs sue. xxx
Hi emmafairy, I was tested at hospital and have been on vit d supplements for last 7 months, it has really improved muscle spasms and twitching, especially at night. The muscle pain has gone down a bit too, i am very happy to be taking them, was advised to take for at least a year. Sorry know nothing about kidneys.
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I am so sorry to read that you have been left feeling so down about your test results and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to this issue.
As fenbadger says, vitamin D can be put right, and I genuinely hope that your kidney can also. At least you know where you stand with a few things? I am so sorry to read that you are feeling scared about all of this, so please do not apologise for feeling down on a bank holiday as it is completely understandable.
You are so right about fighting for a place in a pain clinic, it is really worthwhile. I want to wish you all the best of luck with finding the right treatments that you need.
Hi Emmafairy - I can really relate to this! I finally got a diagnosis of fibromyalgia this week after 9 years of seeing doctors who quite clearly thought I was making it up - a hysterical peri-menopausal woman When I was told, I had the same mixed feelings - obviously it's not a good diagnosis, but I felt so relieved to have seen someone who understood and took me seriously. And what a relief to know that it's not all in my head and I'm not going crazy!!!
My Gp found that I was vit D deficient about 18 months ago, but didn't seem to think that it was odd - despite the fact I pointed out that I have a very weathered complexion because I spend A LOT of time outdoors! How do people feel on here about taking vit D supplements? I know it's fat-soluble, so can accumulate in your body and cause probs if levels get too high. like vit A.
xx
Thank you all so much for your kindnest really means so much Happy Easter day hope you all have a great da, we are having a quite family day wedding fair tomorrow hugs to all xx
