Today I received a letter off the DWP saying they had all the info an reports they need about my condition and how it affects me. They then apologised for taking longer then expected and to give me a decision on my claim but they will be in contact as soon as a decision. Has anyone had this letter an how long does it take to get a decision? Hopefully not to long! Thanks :) x

Hi, I am in the same boat as you. I started my claim in August and have only just had my review today. Which really made me aware of how sad my life is, or lack there of. I Hope you get the decision you need soon, as its awful having to wait such an extended period of time for the promise of support. Fingers crossed ( I would physically if I could but my horrid claw hands no longer support that function.lol) Keep us posted on how you get on. Good Luck. xx

Hi

I belong to a group on Facebook and according to them six months is usual minimum time for any contact from DWP re PIP they are called ATOS Miracles and they discuss the benefits for disabled etc

and offer help to everyone with info on the situation regarding the new systems much same way we help each other on here re a particular illness disability.

Sorry if not supposed to put name on please if name removed and anyone wants to know more please pm me

Hi ,I had that letter and a week later I had my decision ,but reading a lot about this no case seems to be the same ,I first made contact with them on 8th of jan so I suppose my claim has been quick to be sorted out ,I would say I phoned about mine quite a lot ,I really don't know if this speeded up the prosess, they did say to me that it could be up to 3/4 weeks after I got that letter ,but when I phoned they told me decision had been made and told me how much and when payment would go into the bank. Hope this helps .

Hi,

PIP is very precarious...I applied last October and have after numerous phone calls only just been given a date for my Assessment...I find this disgraceful and have asked for a complaints form to be sent regardless. Hope you don't wait as long for decision, good luck.
