Trying to Sue Eli Lilley for the effects of this Devil Drug I have an addictive personality, therefore trouble with substances. Clean for many years but nothing was more difficulty to get out of my system. 5 months away from it and still have toilet issues.

Hi Punchy

I sincerely hope that you feel as well as you can be today? I am sorry to hear that you are still having problems relating to Duloxetine. I have never personally taken this medication myself but I have pasted below the NHS Choices page pertaining to this drug, I sincerely hope that you find it useful.

Take care and all my hopes and dreams for you.

Thank you so much, all information is valuable. I noted little of this info was in the packets of Devils Drug, so I have sent it all on to my Solicitor....Any feed back from others would be greatly appreciated.

I have been taking duloxetine for 18 months now with no problems. However I previously took Venlafaxine for 2 years and that was horrenduous so I asked for it to be changed. It was dreadful to get off as well. But all those problems cleared up when I changed to duloxetine. I think different pills affect different people differently.

It is not being on the drug "Naggy" it is getting of it. I was on it for 5years @60mg and became a "Zombie." Happy Marriage died as I wouldn't respond to anything just became so unfeeling, as a result none of my family, kids even communicate now.

I do understand that Punchy as it seemed very similar to the reaction I had with Venlafaxine (which I would never take again under any circumstances). If I was even half an hour late with taking my regular dose of Venlafaxine I started with withdrawal effects which were awful. I feel I completely lost those 2 years of my life - I had very little emotion either and have only very patchy memory of those 2 years. I have no doubt that Venlafaxine was no good for me and if I had been monitored by a Dr properly when I started taking it it would have been seen what was happening and probably changed much earlier. It was just another thing to consider - maybe that drug did not suit you and you were not monitored well enough for it to be picked up. (Incidently I take 120mg duloxetine now and do not have anything like the problems I had with Venlafaxine if I am late taking a dose). I Hope this helps and explains better what I meant. Best wishes

I have been on Duloxetine 60mg for two years now, and it has been my salvation, I have never felt this good, I have loads of energy, and the pain has been reduced by about 70%, it is as Naggy says drugs don't suit everybody. Personally as long as it keeps working for me, I have no intention of coming off these.

Tell me ladies. it may well be me, but who really wants to be on any DRUG for life?? It was killling me, yellow palour (attacking my liver) and no personality to speak of???

I've been on duloxetine and I had a few issues, with bowel stuff and it didn't help with my pain which the doc said it would so I came off it with docs help. I'm finding similar problems with various drugs I've been offered but as I've said in another post, you have to try them to know if they're any good, cos the GPs (bless them!) have only limited knowledge of them, and it's a bit of a lottery anyway because what works for some may not work for others! Hope you are successful in what you want to achieve and that you get the answer to your issues.
