Hi Cookie72

I hope that you are as well as can be? I just wanted to say how sorry I am that you lost your friend and companion. I hope that you are coping without her? And I sincerely understand that you will miss such a beautiful friend as this.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Morning Ken, I'm not too bad in plenty of pain and for some reason I can't seem to oontrol it, I've had fibro amongst other conditions for 50 to 60 years and I've always had a high pain threshold, but for some reason I'm unable at the present time to put that into action, not sure what's going on....maybe it's because I have lost Sophie, not sure.......gentle hugs to you....Dee x

Thats a photo to break your heart. she is lovely. Dogs become so much part of our families. Everyone of them carve their own special niche in our hearts.

I have never come across the expression

"Travelled to the end of the rainbow"

I have a book with quotes that I collect thanks for that.

Morning Ned, yes every time I look at it the tears come, she was twelve when she died and had been sick all her life, but she was a good dog, very obedient , loving, even the last few days she still found the strength to tell Ben the other dog to leave me alone , she was very protective, I think she thought she was as big as an Alsatian,Ben was a family dog and a boxer but he also died four weeks later he was eleven and a beautiful dog, I called him the gentle giant, I will see if I can find a photo of him, ......they are both romping in the sunshine at the end of the rainbow now, and sadly missed.....gentle hugs to you....Dee x

What a beautiful pic :) So sorry for your loss and hope you are doing ok x

Hi cookie..she is beautiful. I have a Westie called bud. I did have a little girl as well but she died the summer before last.

I wish they could live a lot longer, it breaks your heart doesn't it. X

Morning starblaze, thank you yes she was the best, Westies are such little characters arnt they, and so loveable, I've always had dogs since I was around 11 or 12 , I had four together at one time, two boxers and two dobermans all rescue, they were brilliant and good as gold, only trouble is I always let them be where I was and I'm finding it hard not having one beside me to reach out and stroke....have you put any photos up of Bud, our first dog was a Manchester terrier cross and we called her buddy, she was adorable, like you I've wished with every dog why oh why can't you live the age as me, and I think the loss of a pet is awful the grief is terrible especially if you are an animal lover and they have been loyal and I think they are more loyal thn most humans, and luv us unconditionally, no matter how we look whether our grammar isn't perfect, , all they ask from us is to be fed and loved.....sorry to go on. I think that's my mood these days , some humans are so so selfish.....gentle hugs to you .....Dee xx

Absolutely so!! They give sooo soooo much and ask for nothing in return!

I've been sat watching for months I would have no idea how to put up a pic.my bud is 11 in march he is the reason I am still here..I can never repay him for what he's given me.

I'm the same..had dogs my entire life I simply can't bear life without them, I have him and a teeny little jack Russel who's 2 and a half also a 1 year old great dane...lol gluttons for punishment.

I agree with you on the loss of a pet. .We treat ours as family like you.they come wherever we go, it's like losing a family Member for me ..Our little girl.was called Tara and she died 2 years ago now..she is buried here in the orchard but we are being evicted tomorrow and having to leave her behind is proving so very difficult. ..We have nowhere to go to and the council has nothing for us.. I have refused to get rid of my babies so we could be anywhere or.nowhere anytime soon but we won't get cold too quickly.with all.those.fur babies keeping us warm.will we.lol... xxx

Hi there starblaze sorry I haven't answered sooner,....so so sorry to hear about your eviction. Surely someone must be able to help you, have you tried your local MP, .....if you have photos of your dogs on the iPad or computer, it's easy to download on to here, go into new post, write your post then as you scroll down there's an attachment or pic button click on that then a box will pop up for you to either take a photo or use own pics click on that and that will take you into your own photos then click on the pic you choose and then you see your preview then submit, it's taken me a while, I believe it was foggy bless her that told me how....good luck with pic look forward to seeing them......good luck with housing problem will be thinking of you and willing you to get good results, please keep us posted as to how things go....gentle hugs and a handful of sunshine coming your way....Dee xx

I agree with you about our poor friends caught up in the floods, the pictures are so incredible and really show the difficulty of the plight down there so I join you in thinking about everyone down there :)

OMG!! She's gorgeous, and my most favourite breed of dog..a Westie (I'm assuming!) How awfully sad that you have lost your beloved little Sophie. I know from many years of experience how awful it is to lose a wonderful pet, friend and companion. And the trouble is, it doesn't get any easier. I've always been the one who had to take them to the vet...my late husband and my daughter wouldn't do it!!!! What a lovely photo of her too. She certainly didn't look her age! I thought she was a young dog, even a pup. My heart goes out to you....XXX

Hi Sue, thank you, sorry I'm late in answering but I have only just read your post...yes she was a Westie, and a beautiful Westie at that,I loved her to bits still do always will, but I miss her so so much, might not sound right to say but like I said before I would go as far as to say she was my soul mate, my saviour, I see her every day when I make a Call from my mobile she is my screen saver lol......gentle hugs....Dee xx

OhDee she is so very beautiful. I can understand how much you miss her. Such a huge loss. It's so painful to lose a part of your family. We have a rescue Westie we got last summer and are both totally besotted. Our Humphrey is such a character as I'm sure your Sophie was too.

Having read some of your posts I can see that you are not feeling so good at the moment. I'm so sorry to hear that. Such a horrible illness. I 'm sure all this rain doesn't help us.

I'm sending you lotsa strength and good feelings. Much love xxx
