Oh how lovely for you all, despite the shock :-) my beloved mother had a huge shock when she had me, the doctors were a bit perplexed as Mummy had been quite large and I was only 3lbs 4oz, anyway, three quarters of an hour later my twin brother was born :o 6lbs 9oz Of course 50 years ago they didn't have scans etc., so it was a huge shock which tool my mother quite some time to recover from. At least she got to take one baby home with her, and then 3 months later I joined them :-)

I hope you have a lovely time, I love little babies, just sad I never had one of my own. :-)

What lovely news, if a little unexpected!! Has your daughter come round to the idea now?

At least she won't have all those months stretching out in front of her :)

A new baby is so exciting, are you getting the knitting needles out?

Many congratulations and best wishes.

Wonderful news :D

You all must be very excited.

Pretty much the same happened to my daughter. When asked if there was any chance of a baby she used to say - 'I can't take care of myself, never mind a baby!' Then 2 years ago, after being with her partner for 5 years she found out she was pregnant. At first she wasn't too happy and even considered abortion. I'm totally against that, but I told her that I would support her, whatever decision she made. But her partner wanted to keep the baby! Laura suffered with terrible morning sickness until her GP gave her some safe anti sickness tabs and she was fine. On August 24th 2012 she gave birth to my beautiful grandson, Rhys, who is an absolute treasure. We thank God every day for him, and despite what might have happened, we're truly blessed with an amazing and loving little boy.

Congratulations to you all; I'm sure your daughter will love this little girl when she arrives....it's true - that overwhelming feeling of love for your newborn just happens!! And may I welcome you to the Nana Club - the most wonderful club in the world!!! XXX

Grandchildren are a great blessing aren't they! I have 5 grandaughters (2 of them from previous partners) and 2 grandsons plus 2 more due early in June. A visit from them really helps take my mind off the pain. Congratulations on your wonderful news :-) xxx
