Hi there miss north west, I get a tingling and numb feeling in my left thigh, right thigh and left back shoulder black, also inside my right ear, I have an appointment to see the neurologist on 27th Jan, just to make sure that its the fibro causing it, I would have thought if it were the meds i would be getting it all over...funny thing is it feels itchy yet not itchy if that makes sense...I will let you know what he says...I have another appt the same day to seethe oral surgeon as I have a lump in my mouth, sorry but I don't suppose I have been of much help...hugs...Dee x

Yes, the twitching is called fasciculation and it is associated with myofascial pain syndrome, which 70% of people with fibromyalgia have. Its not a worry in itself. You can experiement to find out how to move your specific muscles to stop it. Sometimes my left arm and legs have something like an epileptic fit all one their own!!! Some specific things start it off with me: (1) Bowen's therapy (2) stretching muscles (3) trying to balance (4) some medications, notably Codeine. Codeine also causes tingling, as does Paracetamol. The tingling has considerably improved since I learned the Alexander Technique. Hope that helps!

Well its a way of using your body more efficiently with poise, the way it should be used - we learn to misuse our bodies as we grow up, sitting, standing and walking sloppily. You can pay to go to an Alexander Technique therapist, or if you can't afford that look for a second hand book on Amazon. I got one for a few pounds by Richard Brennan that was very useful, but I guess you have to be motivated if you do it yourself. Its also good as you use less energy to move, and that is particularly useful with fibro.
