Welcome Lottybear. I am so sorry to hear of all your problems, but you've found a very good and supportive home here.. We don't always have the answers or a magic wand but we do a nice line in cuddles, hugs and shoulders to cry on - as well as advice, support and madness (virtual trips are a speciality) Everyone experiences fibro differently and different things work for different people, but people are always willing to share what works for them (for example I use a wheat-filled heat pack a lot)
I'm quite tired right now, so I'll leave you with some ((((((((extra gentle hugs))))))))) and don't feel you're alone - you've found a good place here.
Hello Lottybear I would also like say welcome.please dont think that I am being rude not saying more but brain not working too well at the moment hugs Sue

Hi Lotty a Happy New Year and welcome from me, so glad you have found us all - we are a great group who look after each other and there is always someone to talk to - for those moments when you need someone who understands what you are faced with. It is really hard coming to terms with Fibro and how it affects our every day life, just remember we all stand in the same boat and understand where you are coming from - need a chat let me know xxxgins
Hi Lotty and welcome. I was diagnosed about 2 years ago and it is very difficult to come to terms with this condition and accept the changes to your life. I found that the pain clinic were very helpful in recommending coping strategies, also cognative (spelling?) behaviour therapy may be helpful - ask your GP about both. Unfortunately we seem to have to push to get any help, but don't give up because there is help out there and help here online. It's also helpful to share information on Fibro with your friends and family, to help them to understand what you are going through, so that they can help and support you.
Hi Lotty, I am sure you'll find this site helpful, I certainly do. There are so many things I could tell you about but you'll find lots of information on here to help you. The main one for me is the chronic pain group that my doctor referred me to. I did a short course on chronic pain which was so useful and also was referred to the chronic pain team. I see the nurse on a fairly regular basis who has helped me by advising on different pain relief medications plus tens machines etc all of which has been really helpful. I know that this service isn't available everywhere, maybe ask your doctor or google it. Reading other peoples posts on here has helped me lots as there is always someone who understands exactly what I'm going through. I'm sure you'll make some friends and you can then help each other. I'm not on here as much as I'd like to be but if you'd like to talk to me anytime I'm more than happy to do that. Best Wishes
Hi Lotty, sorry you've had cause to find your way here - wonderful though the support is, I think we'd all be happy not to need it. You're by no means alone in being knocked sideways by your diagnosis. I went into complete meltdown when I was first diagnosed and I'm sure many of my lovely fibro friends felt the same. I'd just like to say give yourself time and please don't beat yourself up for how you're feeling. There's so much support here and there's guaranteed to be someone who's feeling or has felt exactly as you do. It sounds to me as if you could do with a little formal support to help you come to terms with life at the moment. It might be worth contacting your local Wellbeing team if you have one as they can help you find coping strategies which might also help your anorexia etc. Also, if you struggle with everyday activities, ask your GP for a referral to occupational health. I went along rather reluctantly and found someone who completely understood what I was going through and helped me enormously, not only with physical tasks but with pacing myself and coming to terms with the diagnosis mentally and emotionally. I swear I'd probably have been locked up by now if it hadn't been for the OC team! It does get easier to cope with I promise x
