I get a strange feeling in my legs and feet. It is not painful but feels like my muscles are contracting. Never had this feeling before. Also pins and needles in my feet and sharp pains

Morning Holly,

The pins and need;es and sharp pains and indeed the contracting muscles are all part and parcel of Fibro. I am afraid there is nothing we can do anout them save for gentle movements which sometimes loosen up the nerves which are jangling. My Dad, bless him called them the Jingle Jangles and he was so right! :)

I sit and can be seen randomly wiggling my fingers and rotating my feet it does help a bit but not completely. I suppose we get used to them over time. :)

I hope they are not too bad for you today :)

The symptoms COULD also fit it as being neuropathy...

the motor and sensory nerves are located there..

pins and needles CAN be that...if it's the sensory nerves,

you might not be able to feel hot or cold, sharp or dull

there CAN be bouts of numbness and the pins and needles, pain

would be the description in that case..

If it's motor neuropathy, the muscles will contract and eventually it will

lead to foot-drop witch is an emergency...

Sometimes it's a pinched nerve in your back or many other little things..

I encourage strongly that you see the doctor and bring this one up..

also it can be Fibro..as Gin pointed out..but the only way to know is to

check with your doctor..Don't wait too long. =))

It sounds like fibro symptoms but could be neuropathic pain which can also go along with fibro but it's a good idea to get yourself referred to a rheumatologist. My daughter has spinocerebellar ataxia a progressive brain/mobility disorder and she has neuropathic pain we both take Gabapentin which seems to help, it can prevent alot of neuropathic pain although it doesn't stop all passion (I wish!) Don't panic though about foot drop yikes mentioned, this is extremely unlikely in neuropathic pain and especially as you don't know the reason for your neuropathic pain yet. I think it's best to take things one step at a time. Best wishes

Oops meant to type pain and auto correct made it passion sorry! Actually, I'd prefer passion to pain.
