I've asked 5 female friends,

I've told the gp,

nobody has heard of it,

or had it.

you know when passing water you can feel it,

I still have the feeling as if I'm still mid flow

but there's none left.

it's also slightly numb.

am I alone in his?

No San you are not I find the same thing. Or alternatively I feel nothing and do not know when I have finished except for the noise.

I believe it comes from the nerves in the lower back and is little that can be done unless you are incompetent lol hope it is not too much hazzle for you xgins

You haven't been too rough on that area recently have you? Seriously, I get numbness if I've been riding (a horse you dirty bunch), particularly if I'm doing intense stuff or if it's for hours. I haven't had that for a while since I've not been able to ride for longer than half an hour recently. Makes everything feel rather odd. Not saying it's only from horse riding that you could get it but anything that would put parts of your anatomy under stress. Just a thought.

Just a quick question, Sandra99b - are you drinking enough? (no, not alcohol!) I found that after my gallstones op that I felt like I really needed to pee, but nothing came out. The nurse said it was due to the fact that it had been so long since I'd had a drink, being nil by mouth before the op, & then feeling so ill after the anaesthetic. I've started forcing myself to have a drink every now & then, not to just wait for when it's time to take my next meds like I used to, to keep myself hydrated. Just a thought.

I am now weeing for england, I try to drink at least 2 litres a day.

it started after months of recurrent uti's so that could be part of the strain on it.

it's just the feeling that I'm still doing it after I've finished.

as to horse riding - I hadn't thought of that. I haven't ridden for over 20 years, but, now as you mention it, it is a bit similar, I wonder if driving on bumpy pavements on my scooter could cause it?

I have been doing the same thing....however I cannot go out or walk at all at the moment and the pain in my pelvis is really bad after walking 4 or so steps. Sometimes I am sat in my chair call oh to hllp me up sit on my commode and then cant go. Transfer back onto my chair and 2 mins later need to go ,this circle can at times go on an hour. Then I nearly wet myself as not able to transfer quickly! :-(

I also feel quite numb and not sure if I have been or finished as I have no pressure. X

I am tho now wondering if it is my pelvis that is the problem!

Gentle Hugs to you all ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( <3 )))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Hi Sandra, I have this problem and often have to check and look to see if I am finished! I had big bladder problems in the past, including retention and urethral/bladder spasms and non bacterial cystitis, I had a lot of investigations done and think it probably stems from that.

Another one here with probs too! I have a couple of prolapsed discs in my lower back and due to this I get the feeling that I have to go but can't... but with my bowels I get the feeling that I have to go immediately! This was one of the problems that was part of my fibro diagnosis... I had a pretty rough time in the 36 hours after my gall bladder removal and nearly didn't make it :( But I got the feeling that this was just part of being a fibro patient but if it becomes a real problem I would definitely to talk to a GP about it.

Good Luck

my gp had never heard of it but said he would be interested if anyone on here had similar.

Thamk you all, these helpful replies would suggest it isn't as unusual as he thought.

regards,

sandra :)

I have to get up btw 4-5am most days and feel like I'm still weeing when I'm not but if I'm sat half an hour or more trying to empty my bladder my legs go numb and I get pins and needles which is annoying as I have to walk up and down the landing trying not to wake my husband or daughter up :-(

Sounds like Urinary Tract infection to me, Cystitis. Get yourself a box of Cystopurin sachets and complete the 3 day course. If it doesn't clear up, you can see your GP or go online to get a short course of antibiotics. Boots, Superdrug, Rowlands Chemist all offer this service as long as you're under 65.
