I've found that I can't enjoy any hot, spicy food like I used to. I used to enjoy the taste of the hotter more spicy curries, chillies, etc., but now I find that I have to stick with something less hot, even a korma on some occasions!

Thanx Julie ,I find the skin inside my mouth peels away if I eat anything remotely strong! Take iron tabs and use sensitive toothpaste and spoke with dentist and doc ,think it might be another symptom of Fibro! X

Anything with spice makes my mouth feel as though it's on fire! I used to enjoy food with flavour, oh yes those were the days! :) Tulip xx

Ive had all my teeth very painful now for three years, I cant eat with a metal fork or spoon i have to use plastic, have been to see the dentist at Guys hospital, they done many tests including putting an electrode thingy on my teeth to see if the nerve endings are dead or alive, unfortuately they are alive lol cos it damn well hurt, Im 72 this year and still have all my own teeth, sometimes they feel swollen, sounds barmy doesnt it, it drove me round the twist no one would listen at first, till I told them they either listen to me or i will be coming in on a trolley heading for the mortury, i just wanted to put my head thru a glass window cos the pain was horendouse, still is two or three times a week, but its all been put down to fibro, i also get the feeling that the skin is peeling off inside my mouth and inside my lips, as you say Jackie this damn fibro robs us of every thing gentle hugs to you all Dee xx

Don't waste your time on NHS doctors. Or UK doctors in general. They're useless for anything remotely complicated. They muck it all up, they don't know what they're doing, they're just really hopeless. That's why we have an NHS dominating the healthcare sector. So that doctors get to do whatever they want, and the patient has no say in it. They just spend their time on the things they like to do, and tell everyone else to get lost. They just don't care unless you're dying. They will tell you to "live with it". it's happened to me so many times I'm just sick of the NHS. Totally incompetent. they really shouldn't be in this business of medicine. And they're so audacious they want higher pay. It will never change. We really need to get rid of it.

Strange because only this week my gums are really hurting me. I floss every day but this feels almost itchy pain. Another side effect of fibro

I went to dentist for routine family checkup and my dentist said fibro affects the teeth and gums making them more sensitive, it also affects the jaw, and dentists should let fibro sufferers close their mouths whenever needed when doing treatment. I am booked in for a clean but my bottom teeth are so sensitive my dentist is going to do it under anaesthetic. I have a lot if jaw pain and teeth sometimes feel like they are throbbing . X

I have a few mouth ulcers but my mouth gets extremely sore, especially when brushing my teeth. When I mentioned it to my GP she tested me for Vit B12 deficiency. And yes, I was deficient. I had an injection and all seemed well, but it's returned again !!!! XXX
