Mine is walk in with a very slight gradient so the water goes down the covered drain.
I have wall rails and a proper shower chair with arms and back. Is that what you mean?
sandra.
my husband had our bathroom changed into a wetroom by social services. it's great. we have a shower curtain as room too small to have those doors that go round it so perfect for when he is in wheelchair more. at the moment he has a chair which we have to move out when we want to use it but apart from that it's great.
thank you very much for that i have a lady from adult social care coming to see me on wednesday to do an assesment as i am struggling to get into the bath to have a bath or shower as my leg, knee and hips are very painfull and to lift the legs over the bath is painfull.
will let you know how i go on.
thanks

I have a wet room and it's fantastic. Easy access, although I do think the gradient should have been more as the water does tend to stay at my feet rather than go quickly down the plug hole! But it's fab, I also have a chair in the shower area, a body drier and a clos-o-mat shower toilet too!! XX
The body drier is a long vertical tube, if you like, with a motor on the top, enclosed of course, and when switched on it throws a blast of air at you, warm or hot, whichever you choose, and it dries you!! Fabulous! I'm quite a large lady but it works great for me, even dries your hair!! The clos-o-mat looks and works like a normal toilet but with the added advantage that it washes you, rather like a bidet, when you've been on the loo. It has a hand held push button that you use for yourself, but normal flushing for anyone else that uses the loo, then there is a hot air drier within the loo that dries you as well. It's great for me as I'm not able to take care of my personal hygiene myself. I wouldn't be without it; it gives me confidence that that little job has been taken care of!! XXXX
I was lucky enough to get it via the occupational therapy dept at my local council. I referred myself as I was having soooo much trouble just getting about my home! I do know the total cost was £6000, for the complete job that is - removal of bath, installation of wet room, including toilet, shower and body drier, tiling and redecoration. But that was about 4 years ago. Have a go! They can only say no! Good luck!! XXX
well they came today from adult social care and did an assessment and they say that i do not reach the eligible criteria as i can sit on a bath board but i am told i should not use the bath to etc bathe in. Utter joke - i did phone them back to query it more to again be told no i asked if
still no bbut told they will phone every couple of weeks to see how i am doing i was asked when i last had a fall and that was just over a week so i said if i have a fall getting out of the bath/off bathboard would i then be eligible ?? also she said if i am having a bad health day to just wash myself - OH WELL they did say i could ask for a re-assessment by a different person but they would say the same - the one today went on about cutbacks i will speak to my occupational therapist in about 3 weeks when i go to see her. SO Tonight is not a good one !!!
thanks to all of you for your comments - a very DOWN Belinda
