Has anyone asked for a home medical after receiving the atos appointment?
hi i had a home visit,i didnt request it but i think you can if your health makes it easier.and yes you can ask for it to be recorded,i asked but was told that a machine wouldnt be available [?],but i think if you dont mind waiting you can arrange the date for when they do have a recording machine..and its not a medical as such more of a interigation! lol or thats what i have found..they are wolves in sheeps clothing..have someone with you, they dont like home visits as they feel out of control as its your teritory..and who care if it gets their backs up..its our lives they mess about pet..i have just been awarded HRC and HRM but i used someone to help me ..i just wish i had found him three years ago!! it would have saved me a lot of unnessasary stress...i dont know what benifir you are on so i suppose everyones different..i do know that if i EVER have to have dealings with the DWP again i will be straight on the phone to my guardian angel and let him sort it ..keep me posted xx
Thanks a lot....I am on low rate mobility, middle rate care and long-term sickness benefit(or it was long-term !!!!)......How long was it before you got a new appointment for a machine to be available and get a new appointment
Hi
I think you could always record it at home yourself on your machine but it might be an idea to check the legality of it first.
I think they will refuse to carry out the assessment if you record it..... Mad I know! Xx
I understand though that I have the right to a home visit and record it.....So what would be the cosequences?
You cannot record your assessment using a laptop, mobile telephone etc. Any device which can be edited is ruled out. A double tape machine like the police use when interviewing suspects is deemed okay. A claimant recently paid for the services of a professional sound technician, he was present throughout the assessment and charged approximately £30. Please do your research well in advance, if a recording is not carried out within legal guidelines, it cannot be used at tribunal.
I have had a home assessment before,, I made sure I had someone with me,, fortunately I have friend who used to work for social services and has the advantage of taking "socialworkerese" with a good dollop of "governmentese",, always a help!! ;-),,
"may all your days find you in peace and leave you in hope!
