Yes, I used a malic acid and magnesium supplement for some time. Magnesium is a tricky one because you cannot get an easy blood test to check for deficiency - it won't show up in blood tests until it is really really serious. So many top docs will suggest people with Fibro try a good magnesium supplement for a while to see if it helps. The different forms of magnesium are tolerated differently - if a supplement gives you diarrhoea, you won't be absorbing it and will need a more tolerable form.

Magnesium supplements are discussed in the Complementary Therapies & Fibro factsheet:

There is no good evidence for the use of Guaifenesin as a treatment for Fibro, despite a couple of major research studies and it having been around for decades.

The low oxalate diet has been in the news in recent months, but there isn't much evidence or reasoning behind it. There is little evidence that a specific diet can help Fibro, but there are some things to think about in relation to diet, such as eating to help promote energy levels and provide optimal nutritional support or to help manage IBS.

Diet and supplements are discussed in this article:

I'm not sure what I can suggest right now but just want to say Hi. :) I'm 18 myself. I'm incredibly busy and under a lot of stress at the moment but maybe when that's over we can get chatting sometime. :)

I'm sorry it's been so difficult you recently but it hopefully you will move forward and find ways to relieve your symptoms, a diagnosis is always a positive thing (although it may not seem it at the time!). I'd suggest you listen to (or read) Lindsey ^ as she is the expert and knows all sort of ways about how to deal with Fibro. :)

Hope you feel better soon and, good luck!

Gentle (((hugs))

Yes, I tried it and it was very helpful but had to stop it when I developed one of fibro's' nasty friends, Interstitial Cystitis, because it made my bladder symptoms worse.
