I have been told that I have the right to appeal but don't really know where to start. I know that I am nowhere fit for work and feel so worn out and drained battling with DWP and wonder when someone will see how cruel the whole ATOS system is. Does anyone have any advice on where to go from here?
Many thanks x

Black Triangle is run by doctors who oppose the new benefits system. They have letters you can download for your GP in the case of an Appeal. I haven't read these links properly, but I believe they could be of help to you.
Take a deep breath and keep calm. This way you can think more clearly. In the meantime, get to your local CAB asap so that you can get this process moving.
One more thing, to get 15 points your descriptors have to add up. This may help you to see where you went wrong on your ESA50... or it is possible you haven't, which means you have an even stronger case.
I failed my so called medical too but have just sent back my appeal confirmation, check the atos report carefully mine was mostly totally untrue, it is very stressful. I wish I could go to work, but who would employ me. I couldn't in all honesty sign a contract to commit to their expectations. I felt that they dont listen to what you say and I found that when u did try to elaborate on a question it was deflected. As on the day on question I was feeling rather out of it, I was losing the thread of what I was trying to say, Best of luck, CAB will help, but try to enlist the help of a friend to go thru all the desriptors with you, x
Oh, I forgot to say that you should also write to the DWP asap requesting a copy of your ESA85a form. There is some good advise on here thefullfacts.com/esa/forum/... x
try Liam Carter at mybenefitclaim.co.uk he is very quick to respond and offers free impartial advice and can help you complete a GL24 (appeal document) and guide you through the process of what to say and do etc
Have already been thru this process so was hoping to contribute something positive to your appeal for help. SilkyJ has given very thorough advice, and all I could add is that you should make 3 copies of anything you submit - 1 for DWP, 1 for CAB, and 1 for yourself. And try to send anything you need to post 1st class signed for - that way, the PO have a signature to show that the item was delivered. Try to get medical back up - letter from your Doctor/Consultant etc. Dot the is' and cross the ts' on anything you do; above all, don't give up. Recommend you visit Black Triangle's site, as may have something of use to you. Above all, don't give up hope, and know that there are so many people going thru the same hoop. Wishing you all the best.
This system is so cruel. People who are least capable of fighting through debilitating illness or mental health or just not thinking clearly, have to fight so hard every step of yhe the way for these benefits. Personally I have come so close to having the fight knocked out of me
Hi, It is important to appeal, as anyone not genuine would just accept decision. It is a terrible system and the questions do not allow for explanations on your personal capabilities. Citizens Advice Bureau are best option. Good luck
