Is there anyone else on here got Low platelets.

Mine went down to just 100 then 90 then70 just had another blood test done. They should be about 150 can be OK at 100 but they worry when they are 40 so if it drops again not sure what will happen x

Platelets are concerned with blood clotting, so if you had a severe injury or needed surgery you might need a transfusion of platelets to help your blood to clot.

It shouldn't make much difference to the way you feel, though if severe it can cause tiredness. We're all tired here, so it would be difficult to know if your platelet shortage is responsible!

If your doctor finds the cause of your problem, they will treat you. There are several causes, Vitamin B deficiency being the most common, but often no cause is identified.

dr has called it Idiopathic ( no known reason as yet) I do have problems from my bone marrow he is investigating it,but I just wondered.My Dr is aware I have fibro and CVFS but I am so tired and getting worse by the day,He is concerned as Fibro flares do not progress so rapidly from ...driving walking etc to not being able to do anything inc dressing myself or brushing my hair....This has been a long year!! I have had fibro etc for 20+ years and always bounced back.

I have to carry a fob that says my platelets are low incase I have an accident
