DLA APPEAL

I finally had my dla appeal this afternoon. I don't think im going to be successful with the outcome. They will inform me of their decision in writing. On the positive side the panel were very nice and treated me very well.

good to hear they treated you well,

try not to worry, just see what the outcome is and, if necessary, you can appeal again.

did you get the benefit & work guides from admin?

Yes I got the benefit s & work guides which were very helpful. A rep from the CAB was going to come with me to the appeal, but after the last report from my doctor they felt that I didn't have a good enough case( up until then, it was felt I had a very good case), so had to go with just my husband . It wasn't very pleasant and although I had the oppourtunity to put across my side of the situation,i couldn't think of anything to say other than what id already explained on my dla form. However this would not put me off going to a tribunal again. I don't think I will get an award now but will put back in again for dla if need be.

Best wishes...nannyjenno

I didn't think you could appeal again after the first tribunal, unless there were exceptional reasons. One of the panel was on a tribunal that I went to 7 years ago( my dla was removed) and she remembered me from then. I was given the choice of changing the panel because of this, but as id waited 14 months I chose to go ahead regardless. maybe changing the panel would have made a difference, I don't know. But I do think the decision will not go in my favour this time either,

Best wishes....nannyjenno
