Womb lining only 6.5mm

I went to EPAU as I got a positive last night on a digital 1-2 weeks. I’m only 10dpo today according to my OvuSense sensor and I ovulated 25th Feb.

I’ve had bloods and probably going to have to wait until Monday now for the result. She wasn’t that confident that my lining was only 6.5mm and didn’t seem optimistic.

I’ve have four miscarriages so I have been told to take aspirin and progesterone (cyclogest) from a positive test, which i started cyclogest yesterday afternoon.

I’m not sure what I’m asking really, I’m just so concerned about my lining. She did say it may be slightly under estimated as it’s all down to sonographers technique and maybe the machine under measured - but I find that odd as the sonographer turned the screen and showed me the Lining, which looked like a white long cloud. If I’ve got HCG the baby must have implanted, but does seem uncommon for my womb lining thickness.

I always had a thin lining (sometimes as thin as 4.5/5mm) - I know this because I was having scans mid-cycle to monitor my lining/ovulation. Despite my thin lining I got pregnant several times. Two of my pregnancies ended in miscarriages (nothing to do with the lining) and the third one is my son who is now two years old. I was fixated with my thin lining and wondered if it was stopping me from getting pregnant but in hindsight it didn’t make a difference. Saying that it was triple lining. I know how hard this journey is. I wish you the best of luck. X

Thank you, glad you were able to have your son. Unfortunately, she didn’t say anything about a triple layer, I was going to ask but not sure why I didn’t. She just pointed out the lining in the screen and said we would usually see a black dot here if there was a pregnancy at so many weeks.

I had my results so my progesterone is actually really good at 81 (I’m in the UK) my HCG was only 15, and I’m 3 weeks 3 days. As far as I’m aware that falls in the normal category for weeks, however I am a bit worried it’s low. I will have to have another blood test on Monday.

pretty sure once ovulations has occurred & progesterone is being produced the lining kind of compacts a little & is no longer trilaminar post conception. I think 6.5 would also likely be ok. Best of luck

Thank you, I’m hoping for a call tomorrow.

My pregnancy tests have got darker over the weekend compared to Friday when I had the beta - so hopefully that means my levels have gone up 🤞 x

Wishing you all the best for tomorrow, and I’m so sorry to hear of your previous losses. I suffered a miscarriage in November and had another in 2022. We’ve also had a chemical pregnancy too.

Have you been trying with IVF or naturally?

Would you mind me asking who recommended taking aspirin due to your previous losses? My clinic have always told me to stop taking aspirin 2 days before embryo transfer. I’m wondering if it’s worth asking them if it’s best to carry on due to my previous losses.

xx

Thank you! Unfortunately there was a mix up at the hospital and no one called ! So I’m going for my beta tomorrow instead. My tests seem to be getting darker so I’m just hoping that it’s going up. I’m sorry to hear about your chemical and miscarriage , I know how it feels and it’s an awful feeling.

We have been trying naturally for about two years. I have PCOS and I’m quite overweight so I wasn’t ovulating much. I bought an OvuSense vaginal monitor to track my ovulation, and it does work.

This month we wasn’t massively focused because I was trying to focus on health and weight loss. I hired a personal trainer, started weight training, and eating a bit healthier and then three weeks later I’m pregnant.

I saw a recurrent miscarriage / Gynae doctor and they advised cyclogest pessary and aspirin 150mg from a positive pregnancy test. Although, one of them advised me to start aspirin daily even when not pregnant, and to carry on taking daily. I did do that a couple months ago. But it started to hurt my stomach as I suffer reflux disease. But I have restarted it now, and take omeprazole beforehand xx
