Medicated FET- how long to get lining thick and which day did you transfer?

Whatwillbewillbe_ profile image

I am doing a medicated FET and on CD18 with lining at 6.5mm

I was told on CD14 that my lining was 7mm but then on CD16 I did have a tiny amount of brown spotting.

I don’t understand how my lining could get thinner.

how long did it take you to get your lining to 8mm on a medicated FET and then what day did you transfer?

Hi, how are you getting on? Is your lining trilaminar? I don't really have any answers for you but I suffer from thin lining as well and my last transfer was cancelled because of it. I've just started my next fet and I'm so nervous about getting a thick enough lining and am trying every old wives tale in the book to thicken it. In my last fet I was 5.7 on CD7 which only went up to 6 on CD14 but was trilaminar. I was supposed to transfer on CD19 but I asked to continue on the estrogen for a bit longer before starting the progesterone and by CD17 I had managed to get up to 6.7 but had lost the trilaminar so it had to be cancelled. I hope you get some useful answers and are able to proceed with your transfer. X

My lining was trilaminar but yesterday (CD18) it was only 6.5mm and my oestrodial levels were on the low side so the consultant decided to cancel this cycle. This has never happened to me before. Really devastated.

He has suggested that the next cycle we do stimulated FET which i haven’t tried before. He thinks this will help thicken up my lining nicely.

So sorry to hear it was cancelled. I completely understand as my last one was cancelled. Yes I've been suggested the same. Wishing you luck with the next one. X

I’m sorry yours was cancelled too. Can I ask a bit more about how your protocol looks like?

What medication have they advised you to take and how frequently are they testing your bloods/lining?

So I'm just on estrogen and Aspirin at the moment. First time I was taking 8mg orally but this time I'm also taking one vaginally as well as the patches every 48 hours. I think it was the patches and vaginal estrogen change that grew my lining in the last couple of days before it was cancelled last time. I'm also trying to get my blood flowing by doing lots of walking and drinking loads of water. Throwing everything at it and drinking pomegranate juice, beetroot juice, eating brazil nuts and goji berries and having weekly accupunxture and reflexology. Feel like growing my lining has become a full time job! Do you remember what your lining looked like on your egg collection cycles, or did you have a fresh transfer that you have as reference? Which form of estrogen have you been taking?

So for my egg collection cycles the lining was good. For the recent cancelled medicated FET I was taking progynova orally and then added the patches.

For the stimulated FET they are suggesting I take 75 units of gonal f daily and maybe add oestrogen if needed.

I will also take aspirin and Clexane.

Doing all the nutrition extras as well as exercise and acupuncture!

Ah that's interesting about taking the gonal f and being able to add in the estrogen as well. Sounds like a stimmed cycle is the way to go. I've got my first scan today to see how my lining is getting on. Good luck x
