I’ve just started my third round of stims, last one was in 2022. I just started cetrotide this morning and nearly blacked out. Had to really focus to finish the shot and get back upstairs to my husband — had patchy vision, ringing in my ears, the lot.
Is this unusual? my clinic is closed today cus it’s new years day otherwise i’d call but I’m now feeling highly anxious about doing the one tmr and my stims tonight!

I used it for 2 of my cycles and I don't remember anything like that. Only that the needle was slightly thicker than other medications I used before so a little more painful. my clinic abroad had a number for emergencies out of hours. Yours might have something similar?
oh gosh that sounds awful and I hope you feel better now? Cetrotide did not agree with me either and I had bad side effects. I cried when my clinic prescribed it a second time as it turned me into a demon! Speak to your clinic as soon as you can as they might suggest an alternative for you.
I had only ever fainted once before during my ectopic pregnancy. But I fainted on my first cetrotide, my injection was 7 am in the morning so the early morning, with no breakfast beforehand and the actual manipulation of the powder and solvent I think it just all caught up with me. I fainted and awoke with the needle still in my tummy ( no harm done thankfully) . Every morning thereafter I had A slice of toast and marmalade before hand ( even tho it went totally against "ivf diet" of no processed food and low sugar ). I also had a night toward the end of stims where the full bemfola dose just bypassed the needle and trickled down my tummy instead ( talk about panic 😅). I put the bypassed dose down to standing up and tensing my tummy, as I could see no issue with the needle. After that and my faint all injections were lying down and id no more bother.
Forgot to say my husband in a panic did email and ask the nurses and they said it's common for early morning injections on an empty stomach for fainting to occur. Wishing you all the best for your upcoming cycle 🙏🏻
