Hey everyone, I was just wondering, I've had my first cetrotide injection tonight and after my stomach felt itching and abit irritable, has this happened to any of you? My partner said it's probly because it's a sensitive area and I'm over thinking it, is he right? I have my first scan tomorrow so I will ask when I go x
Cetrotide: Hey everyone, I was just... - Fertility Network UK
Cetrotide
I had exactly the same and I was told it can be a normal side effect. It was my least favourite injection for that reason....it would sting and itch for around 2 hours! Good luck with your treatment xx
Hello,
I hope everything is going well, I am in my first round too and had exactly the same reaction my skin was red and irritated, my nurse advised this is quite a common reaction,
Xx
Hi Janer yep it's a common side effect - for me it was a weird tingly pain but itchy at the same time. Not nice but doesn't last too long. Good luck with the scan! X
Thankyou for your reply's, it's made me feel at ease. I thought I we did something wrong or it might be a wipe I had the reaction to. I'm not looking forward to the next injection tonight. Wishing u all the best in your journeys xx
Hi, as the ladies have said it's quite a common reaction. My nurse suggested holding an ice cube on the area to numb it a little before I injected and that seemed to help. The injections do get easier and you'll soon be a pro! Good luck x
This is a very common reaction. Do not scratch it as it will stimulate a histamine response and make it worse.
It will get easier. If it is really hot an irritating you could try and ice cube on the site.
Take care
Thankyou, I dint use the wipe on my stomach last night and there was still some irritation but not as the first night xx
I'm starting on cetrotide tomorrow. Thank you for posting this .I will definitely use an ice cube 😊
