I'm not sure what those grades are. But if they were good enough to freeze then I would say they are good enough to transfer. I would make an appointment with your clinic and discuss your options they should be able to give you some advice on the quality of your embryos and another cycle of IVF. Personally we decided to just use our frozen embryos and if they don't work then that would be it as I don't think I could mentally cope with another IVF round and having to look after a toddler at the same time. Good luck whatever you decide x
I once asked for further details about our embryos and got this response:
“In terms of our grading compared to the national grading scheme, we use letters instead of numbers to describe how expanded the blastocyst is:
VEB (very early blastocyst) equivalent of national grading scheme 1
EB (early blastocyst) equivalent of national grading scheme 2
FB (full blastocyst) equivalent of national grading scheme 3
EXB (expanded blastocyst) equivalent of national grading scheme 4
HB (hatching blastocyst) equivalent of national grading scheme 5
FHB (fully hatched blastocyst) equivalent of national grading scheme 6
It is a little more complicated for the inner cell mass and trophectoderm scores, as we grade 1-3 and the national scheme uses A-D. Roughly 1 in CARE equals A, 2 a B and 3 a C. “
Hi, I used CARE and never got told a grading like that so that’s interesting. The most I got was ‘poor’, ‘average’, ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’. When I pushed they said they didn’t grade. One consultant gave my blastocyst a rating out of 10 when I really pushed for it. Maybe that was my particular Care clinic. I know that doesn’t answer your question but I always found it frustrating that everyone discussed grades of embryos on forums and my clinic refused to grade (I had 6 embryos transferred all together). good luck
Depending on your finances and mental state, I would do another round of IVF just to make sure you have enough embryos and you won’t be stressed. Doing this now at 41 is better than anytime after. My second son was a 3BC by the way so even if not as good as a 3BB theoretically, they embryos have good chances.
I am 41 just like you, pregnant with my 4th child (transfer of last month) and I find that the way you approach transfers is entirely different when you still have several in the bank.
