Mammogram prior to IVF??

Hi everyone, I have been asked to do a mammogram before I start my next round of IVF? This is the first time I have been asked to do this test? Has anyone else had to do this? Does anyone know where I can go in the UK Midlands area for this test? I have checked with my GP and I am too young at the moment (quite nice at my age to be too young for something) Any tips on where to go would be great thanks...

I know that you have to do a mammogram if you are over 40 years old and in U.K. is not mandatory, that is why probably your GP told you that you are too young.

My GP said they don't do Mammograms till after 50 years old so I have a few years to go yet? Still looking for places that can do it for me???

This is the most random thing I think I've heard so far. Why do you have to go do a mammogram?! Happy for you that you're too young NHS-wise. Hope someone can give you some advice!

Hi ttcemmie, the clinic have basically said that due to all the artificial estrogen we take doing IVF its a precaution if your over 40.

Are you having treatment abroad as I think someone has mentioned that before? Not 100% sure though. Very odd aa UK screening doesn’t start until 50 unless you have a family history but then that would be decided by the genetics team 🤔 x

Yes I am going abroad, I have asked the clinic if they can do me one but they don't do them just recommend you have one???
