How soon is frozen transfer after fresh transfer fail?

Hi all. Currently 6dp5dt on my first IVF round. Had super duper faint line on FR test (so much so I'm not sure if it's just the indent line). Just wondering how long people normally have to wait for their next transfer? We were very lucky and had 2 x 5dt to freeze and 1 x 6dt. We're on our first and only NHS round so mot sure if it's quicker when you're private. Any advice welcome!!!

Ooh but that sounds you are not out yet! 6dp5dt is still early days and many people don’t get positive tests until after day 7-9… I hope it will still go on the become a darker line in the coming days!

If it does not work, my clinic would want you to have a first bleed following your fresh transfer and then start meds for the FET on your next bleed after that, so depending on how long your cycles are. But could be 4-6 weeks after a failed transfer. But for now try to stay positive and let’s hope it is still developing 🤞🏼❤️

Thanks! Yeah it's true, I'm still holding out some hope. I think I freaked myself out reading posts with people getting positive 5dp5dt and stupidly started testing. My cycles are really regular normally (27 days). That's really useful to know. Had to wait so long to get started I was scared they'd be like 'ok see you again in 6 months !" 😳😭

I have to say it might depend on the clinic but I am having NHS funded IVF at a private clinic and never had to wait longer than wat I described which was really nice to keep on going.

Def don’t lose hope yet! They say to test day 10 after transfer for a reason!

Thanks! I'm also NHS but at a private clinic so hopefully will be similar if it comes to it. I know, I'm really cross with myself for testing early as I'm just torturing myself with it now. I think cause I've been TTC 2 years and never had a BFP in my life, I'm so desperate to see one I just could not wait another day.

Ooh gosh yes, the 2WW definitely messes with your mind! We all have been there! Keep positive and test again perhaps in 2 days as it might have more chance to be a positive then! You got this!

Hiya, how have you been feeling did you have symptoms or just test? I’m 4dp5dt with no symptoms what so ever, first ivf cycle also.Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻 xx

Hi! So I'm just 2 days ahead. I feel fine today but had some moderate cramps on day 2 to 4. Had some really sharp ones on day 2 that worried me but read could be implantation cramps. No spotting at all though. I think its really common to have no symptoms from what I've read. I feel completely normal today. Was quite emotional yesterday but I think that was due to my stupid early testing! Fingers crossed for you too!! Xx

Hi Sara,I’m NHS too, we had one fresh transfer and we’ve one frozen embryo, so I was straight into it, got my BFN on the 14th Feb (and period grrrr…), my next period cycle is due on the 10th/11th March and so that’s when I start the next set of drugs etc. my consultant suggested April but I was having none of it!

Absolutely ! Well done for pushing, I would want to crack on ASAP as I read you’re chances of success are best right after your fresh cycle. Good luck! X

If you got a faint line why do you think you are out???In my country I did a frozen transfer right after my fresh failed transfer (I got my period from the failed and started 5th Jr frozen)

The frozen failed as well!

But I think the whole cycle was busted nothing implanted

Hi Jana. Tbh I thought I was imaging it or it was an evap line but I've re done it today and it's faint but darker now so I'm just keeping everything crossed it sticks. I'm sorry to hear your cycles failed. Are you trying again?

Awesome news!!!!I am crossing my fingers for you

😍Oh don't worry about me my second fresh cycle worked and I do have a toddler, trying for a sibling took 4 transfers and I am currently 24 weeks pregnant so it did work out!

My round was nhs. And it wasn’t the fertility clinic that was slow it was when I was referred to hospital for polyps out. The time in the clinic went so quickly I thought it must be the same for private patients. It’s just one is funded and one is not. All mine were frozen and the first FET didn’t work. The second did so now we have to pay for our 3rd and last embryo to be frozen and I Expect if we use it for the FET and scans and drugs too.

So glad to hear it worked! We have 3 frozen atm. Do you know how much it costs to keep them frozen if you have a successful pregnancy? I'm assuming the NHS don't keep funding it?

Wondering if it depends on the clinic. They told us they’d freeze them for a year then we’d have to pay - just over £300 for a year. Otherwise you get to choose what to do with them (dispose or let them use them for research). However because of covid - I think they extended the time. We just paid for our first year so somehow it kicked in - in March last year (which is about 2 years since my ivf collection) but my treatment took place last year and I kind of think once you get a positive pregnancy the funding turns off. They did two transfers on the nhs but I have heard they may not have done the third if the second hadn’t worked. Difficult to know. I think it might be clinic per borough because in lambeth I only got one round but elsewhere in the U.K. you can be eligible for three rounds.

Not sure at different clinics but my one frozen embryo was charged at £350 per year after my NHS funding ran out.
