Cyclogest pessaries

Has anyone’s clinic advised them to only take Cyclogest vaginally, for better absorption? I’m unsure what to do for my FET and my clinic have said either way is fine.

Good morning dear, I'm currently using Cyclogest pessaries, and I have no complaints. The pessarie does absorb well. I don't have any stains in my undies. Hope this helps good luck.

I was told on 1 round when I was taking 3 per day to do one vaginally. They said absorption was ever so slightly higher. I had to swap to all PR in the end because it either gave me, or maybe I had already & it aggravated it, vaginal thrush & it was the worst ever! I think some recent study says PV better absorption but only slightly. X

Thank you. I think I’ve been put off because I suffer from UTI’s and generally like to avoid inserting them there in case this was to irritate anything x

I have done them both ways on different transfers and found that I absorb them better vaginally. It is messy but totally worth it in the end.

Good luck with your FET. XX

Thank you. Did you have your progesterone tested? Is this how you knew you absorbed them better? X

if you don’t have an issue vaginally its better to take them that way is my clinics reccomendation as very slightly more effective, so I just always have. A bit messy but not a big deal. I’ve done them over 15 times (transfers and IUIs) with 2 of the times up to 12 weeks twice a day with my pregnancies without any issues at all vaginally xx

Thank you. I always thought it was a faff having to lie down afterwards but I’ll give this way a try x

A good excuse for a lie down I say 🤭🤣

I have to take them 3 times a day. My clinic advise vaginally morning and evening, and then lunchtime one up the other end I think purely because it’s not as practical to have a lie down in the middle of the day! It’s a high dose so when I had my levels checked pre FET I had more than enough in my system. Good Luck ❤️

Thank you. I’ll be on lubion as well but my clinic don’t offer the blood test to check levels

Hi Kerry1487 I’m on my 3rd FET and the consultant has specifically asked for one pessary to be inserted rectally. I’m taking 3 a day with lubion injections so not sure if this will help you. Good luck 💖
