Hi Koksy, I use them rectally as I find them far less irritating and they don’t leak from the back so you can crack on without waiting xxx

Hi Korey. It takes 20-30 minutes for the progesterone to absorb. After that, anything that leaks out is not needed. Hope all goes well. Diane

My clinic said vaginally..so how long do I lie down

in reply toBiala

As Diane said - 20 to 30 mins is enough. You will get discharge so would recommend a panty liner, but that is just the bits that aren't needed.

Good luck xxx

I’m glad you have posted this as I don’t lie down at all, just to put the pessary in my front then I’m up. Is it recommended to lie down after?

in reply tolau_har1

It is without an applicator.i was told about 20 minutes, however, with an applicator you can go about your day as normal immediately xx

Oh bless You! My clinic said 20 mins to me so perhaps you only need to lie down for 30 mins at the most. I hope you've had a good book to read 😁 x

I use Utrogestan and I've been lying down for 20 mins. That's when I come on here and chat with people! If I'm at work for the mid afternoon one then I just have to put it in and not have a lie down, but I lie down for morning and evening ones x

My clinic said not to use them vaginally until after embryos put back in and that rectally they’re much cleaner and better absorbed. Needless to say this morning, I was surprised how easy it disappeared - and no mess all day either 👍🏼

My clinic says only to put them rectally on day of ET but vaginally for the rest
