hello, I’m 43 and with anti-muller hormone at 0.48 my doctor says I need to do a light hormonal stimulation so that she gets sufficient quantity of eggs retrieval. My dear is triggering hormonal cancers by the injections. Initially I thought I would do a natural cycle ivf (no hormonal injections), but now the doctor said it’s better not to waste time and go to injections. How safe are they, any tips whether it’s worth trying in a natural cycle ifv with such low amh? Thank you ❤️

hormonal stimulation or natural cycle IVF
if I read this right you dont want to do stims for IvF in case it causes cancer? I think the majority of IVF cycles use stims for many many decades now (certainly all 6 rounds of mine have) so your hospital should have a lot of info on this to determine if it is safe. As the NHS use stims and have NEVER once brought this up to me as a potential side effect I would suggest the correlation is minimal if at all as they have raised other possible side affects with me of the procedures and drugs in great detail. One to raise with your clinic as the experts though x
Thank you vm! I cannot do it with NHS as over 40, but the private clinic is outstanding it’s safe, however, they are interested to do the procedure as I pay them. So I was hoping to hear more independent views and yours is very helpful.
Yeah I have been private and nhs and nothing has ever been mentioned by either about cancer. I feel the nhs wouldn’t approve the treatment though if it caused them more issues in the longer term was my thought process and they have been much more cautious around f what treatment that approve etc. it’s the most common way to do IVF xx
Thank you 🙏 may I ask you one more question: what blood test does NHS refers before the stim? in my private clinic they want me to have blood tests for hormones and a standard blood test (sugar level, folates, iron, cholesterol, ext.) .
Ive had a million blood tests not sure what they were all for tbh but that sounds pretty standard 🤗 I also had vaginal swabs to check for STIs and bloods for HIV etc that need repeated every few years. Hormone checks are throughout treatment and they also do thyroid function test every 6-12 months xx
