Hey!! I had a natural transfer but they still gave me progesterone after I ovulated. Unfortunately it was a negative cycle. But then I just a medicated transfer and that was negative again 🙈 so I’m thinking of asking to do a completely natural one as I heard someone here had that done and was successful as I really hate all the meds and their side effects which I’m still suffering from since the failed medicated cycle 😐 I hope someone can give you a more positive prospect and best of luck

No not yet just finishing the withdrawal bleed. The problem with natural maybe we have the body few cycles to go back to swing? I don’t know.., I have to wait and see what my clinic suggests

Hi, I haven’t done a natural cycle yet but I am going to in the next few weeks. So I’m really interested in the replies to this. I Spoke in detail about it with my clinic and they have said the success rates are just the same for women who have regular cycles of around 28-30 days. Apparently a few years ago they used to put everyone they could on a natural cycle but because the weren’t controlling the ovulation they could get lots of women ovulating at once and the embryologist and transfer team had a backlog/couldn’t cope! So now everyone at my clinic is put on down reg and fully medicated cycle unless they ask for natural! Lol I can’t help but laugh! After an early mc last month and attempt 9 I've asked to try a FET without the down reg or any drugs this time and they’ve agreed. I looked into womb scratch too but decided not to do that now because of the miscarriage. Just want to leave my body alone for a bit but not stop trying if that makes sense xx

Totally agree hun I’m exactly the same but will try the womb scratch coz I have a heart shaped womb and fibroid in the dip they think this is why not sticking u had 9 rounds ? Xxx

Not 9 rounds of IVF sorry- 6 IUI first but the meds for that were a little rough too especially the nasal spray 4 times a day for practically a year and a half which gave me migraines🙈😂 going on to 3rd round of transfer in the next few weeks and had 2 other down reg cycles last year that didn’t result in egg collection or FET because of precancerous cells found on my smear which I had to get treatment for. My friends got the scratch on their cycle that resulted in their beautiful little girl and they believe it made the difference so I’m with you on the scratch front and if this au naturale cycle doesn’t work for us it’s probably something I will try next. Wishing you all the luck in the world 🤗 xxx

Hi Coral86, I had a completely natural FET, I didn’t even have the progesterone and I’m pleased to say I am 22weeks pregnant. It was so much better for me than having all the drugs which made me feel really rubbish. I was really unsure if my body could do a natural FET, but my clinic reassured me that it could. I had daily blood tests and scans to detect which day I was going to ovulate and then had the transfer 5 days later. I felt much calmer and I definitely coped better. Sending you lots of luck for your next transfer 💕

Do you what are the factors that made them determine the day of the transfer , is it like a specific LH surge number or something .

Peonypop profile image
Peonypop in reply toLilSylver

Hi, I think they measured my LH and some of the other hormones but I can’t remember which. They looked for the trend in them rising and once they hit a certain threshold along with looking at my scans, they determined which day to do the transfer xx

☹️I think my doctor is taking me as a case study then, he just looked at my LH and endometrium thickness and said LETS HAVE IT ON THURSDAY if not then Saturday 🤣

I think I need a new doctor.

Oh dear, that doesn’t give you the most confidence...maybe give them a ring tmro to discuss. Best of luck for your transfer xx

Hmm 🤔 I got my LH surge and had transfer 6 days after that. So, got my surge Tuesday night, nothing happened Weds and then Thursday was my day 0 where I started the progesterone pessaries. I had transfer the Tuesday.

Might be worth double checking that Hun 😘xxx

Hi Coral, I previously wrote this which you may find helpful:

‘....my biggest change was having a natural frozen transfer which didn’t require any medication and also having a couple months respite, which allowed my cycle to regulate itself. Once regulated I was tested for ovulation (via a blood test, although most people use ovulation predictor kits) and this was detected which meant that I was able to have the transfer 5 days later. I have very regular and predictable cycles so I think my body was very affected when manipulated so far outside of its natural rhythm during the IVF medicated process. I also experienced a painful recovery after egg collection and don’t believe that my body was in the best condition to proceed with a transfer at the time. Ultimately I consider that it was giving my body a rest and having no medication prior to the transfer which made my body more receptive...x

Hi there,

Ive just had my 2 day transfer from a natural modified cycle of ivf. I had some very low dose menopur, and some cetrotide, just enough to stimulate my follicles enough to get 2 eggs. I had no side effects and only 10 injections in the whole cycle. They went by my blood tests as to wether to give my hormones a little boost each time, and there is no down reg or anything like that. I just had a grade 1 embryo put back on day 2. Id highly recomend it, it was so easy. Just be aware of course that you wont get lots of eggs, their aim is to get one, two is a bonus they said, so do what you can to look after those eggs and their quality before starting a natural cycle x

Hello Coral86,

I decided to switch to a natural modified cycle last year as the one round of funded NHS cycle I could access was not right for me at all. After a lot of research of course and don’t have any outcome yet as we have signed up for 3 cycle natural modified package with transfer after third cycle - fresh or frozen depending on how my body is.

Pls note I only really have about 4 follicles to play with due to damage from endometrial cyst.

1st cycle

IVF ICSI March 2019

Maximum dose meriofurt 450 14 days

3 eggs collected 2 fertilised

Embryos not checked until day 5 and was told they had arrested on day 3. Poor quality not measuring beyond day 3 (no info provided about cells)

Strongly advised by clinic to get donor eggs or donor embryo (husband has sperm issues too)

Felt physically and mentally unwell whilst stimming particularly near the end of the two weeks

3 scans overall and no bloods taken throughout

2nd cycle

IVF ICSI November 2019

Low dose 225 Bemfola 11 days

Double trigger shot cetrotide

3 eggs collected 2 fertilised

Checked on day 3 -

1 x 8 cell grade 1 embryo

1 x 12 cell grade 1 embryo

Frozen on day 3 for later use

Scan and bloods done every other day

Felt OK throughout and much better experience overall for me

It’s still in know as we have a while to wait before we will transfer but feel like this approach is right.

I also made a lot of lifestyle changes staring in January last year after I had surgery to remove a large cyst.

Now aim to eliminate gluten dairy caffeine alcohol

Take DHEA 75mg daily and inositol, ubiquinol all to help with egg quality (my AMH measured 1.64 2018) plus usual pre pregnancy vitamins

Sorry I don't know anything about the scratch and never got as far as transfer stage. Hope this is helpful and good luck Susan x
