HI! A bit anxious here. Hoping friends here with experience can share .
My FET is next Tuesday. My lining today is 8mm compared to 5days ago which was 9mm. My doctor said can proceed because 8mm is the minimum. My concern is if my lining is thining and I still have 3 days to go before my transfer, I am worried that lining continues to thin these 3 days.
can anyone give some advice or share your experience??
one thing I notice, I started progesterone and was given ovidrel shot the day after my scan of 9mm. Are these 2 items going against the estrogen causing lining to thin? Does anyone knows what’s the use of ovidrel before transfer? I heard to mature eggs but how does it help in transfer or implantation? Clinic just told me it’s for hormones boost.
My Anxiety boiling up.

have my fingers crossed for your transfer next week! I don’t have the answer to your medication qns, but I found this Instagram reel from Dr Tim Child super helpful regarding endo thickness - instagram.com/reel/C8FUylFN...
Thanks for sharing. Then shouldn’t I reduce my progesterone ? Does it make sense if I reduce it so it won’t compact too much the estrogen, thereby keeping the lining intact. Do you know when the lining thins , can it thickens again?
I'm afraid I don't have enough knowledge to say in terms of what happens now with the lining. But I don't think you should be reducing your progesterone - it is an extremely important hormone for IVF treatment
The progesterone can compact the lining a bit. It may carry on thickening or it may remain as it is but the progesterone maintains the lining once the oestrogen has thickened it so you need it to stabilise it and stop it breaking down. The thickness of the lining can vary a lot and they won't normally go ahead if the lining doesn't look healthy and thick enough. Best of luck for your transfer!
Do you know usually progesterone can compact till how much ? Like 1mm or2/3mm ? I still have 3days to go before my transfer . Would it compact and thin further ?
I’m really not sure but 8mm after progesterone is good, my clinic have always said that for me so try not to worry, Progesterone is important as it ensures the lining is sufficiently prepared and maintained for the embryo to implant, which is critical for a pregnancy ❤️
I started my Progesterone on the 18th of June after my trigger injection. Had a recheck of my lining on Friday 21st of June which was 7.5mm prior to my FET on the 23rd June. This morning was test day & it’s positive. Try not to worry, your lining should compact down in preparation for implantation.
My lining thins out with progesterone. I was told this didn’t matter and that they only care about how thick it is pre-progesterone. That said I haven’t ever fallen pregnant so it’s hard not to question it. My dr said my lining was a bit on the thin side and that they will address this. This time round my prep is different with fewer drugs.
it’s very good in fact, and some studies show that the outcome is better if the lining is compacted after taking progesterone. I hope it worked for you
