last chance, need advice on protocol please 🙏🏼

hi all,

So I’m starting my last cycle in July. I am 42 since April , amh 2.1 (that was 1.5 yrs ago though) afc was 7 at my last cycle in February (which was cancelled due to very little response) I was on a micro flare agonist protocol. 300gonal and 150 luveris , buserlin started on day 1. My doctor for that cycle and a previous one last year has moved clinics so I’m recently under a new doctor. Had a phone consultation and (I felt) he kind of just threw out a different medication (pergoveris 450) at me and liked to remind me how my age is a factor and quality too etc etc 🙄🙄 overall I didn’t get a good feel for him. My doc previous had mentioned estrogen priming for a next cycle but this new doctor didn’t and when I mentioned it he brushed over it so I’m not sure what to do? I definitely don’t respon well to BC so that’s not an option to prime with. Should I push for estrogen priming, has anyone had a better outcome with it or should I leave all well alone and just go with what he suggested?

also the protocol has me starting buserlin again on day 1, I’m wondering is it possible to start it a few days later in the cycle and give the follicles a chance to grow with meds. My understanding of buserlin is to stop ovulating, stand to be corrected. Or maybe that’s not how a cycle should work. I just feel a bit in a tizzy over it all, what to do and what not to do, especially it being my last chance 🥺 I want to do this right and not end up cancelling again. Any success protocols or advice? I understand everyone is different.

P.s I have had success twice , 1 little boy, 1 miscarriage at 5 mts, tried both those same protocols and no luck.

thanks for reading x

thank you. He is the light of my life ❤️ Thanks for the info , I was thinking the priming would start before the meds/ injections. Say like after ovulation in the month before July period 🤔 So you will only start oestrogen priming when ur period starts? And then start injections a day or two later? Sorry if I have it all mixed up 🙈

I am 41. Starting my third egg collection cycle on 21st this month. Amh is 7.5. I had 3 pgt tested embryos from my last two cycles at 38. I'm not sure I am holding out much hope for this one. But fingers crossed. 🤞🤞This time I am using meriofort, saizen and Fyremadel 0,25 mg/0,5 ml. I used menopur before. They have me on dhea and cq10 for supplements along with vit d, e and l'arginine. I've had three doctor's in three years so I understand your apprehension but be sure to ask your questions now as you will live with it for the remainder. Make sure you are happy you know why they are doing something. Ivf has enough questions, and you have been through enough alreadyto have to live with what ifs . Keep us posted x

hey, thank you. That’s a great amh, I really hope you have success this round 🤞🏽🤞🏽 Everything crossed for you. Ya I definitely need to ask the questions. I felt the new doctor had to just tick a box , give me a new protocol and get off the phone. Chances are I’ll never even see him 🫤 I will get on to the nurses. I suppose I just don’t know if I should push for oestrogen priming or not, will it help, will it not, it’s all a head wrecking risk I have to decide to take or not at a VERY costly rate 🤯

I’m 44 on my last cycle in the 2ww , I’d say go for meriofert because it’s good for quality in older women. I got 10 eggs, 8 mature , 6 fertilised on this cycle. Wishing you the best of luck. xxx

wow so happy for you, plz god you have a positive at the end of the 2ww 🤞🏽🙏🏼🫶🏼 That’s good I know about meriofert…I had a little Google and wonder is pergoveris similar as it also contains both fsh & Lh , that’s what I am down to take but I would be very interested in Meriofert if it would suit me better. I hate the uncertainty of what to do when you literally don’t know until you try it 🤯🤯

I know we are all different but if it helps, I got a positive yesterday- it’s a miracle!! The main differences on this cycle were back to Merifort (my 1st cycle in 2022 was meriofert which gave us our Angel boy up in heaven), 2nd/3rd/4th cycle were gonal F/menopur - these all failed. Also on Hydroxy this time. Wishing you all the luck with whatever you decide, keep going ❤️🙏

aw that is just amazing 😍😍😍 so so happy for you. You must be beaming 🥰 thanks for letting me know. I wonder is meriofert similar to pergoveris 🤔 as they both contain fsh & lh together.
