Day 2 transfer

Anyone have any success stories regarding a day 2 transfer?

Only one of my eggs fertilised this round despite ICSI. But we only got 3 mature eggs out of 5 collected.

We’re pretty devastated. Can’t quite believe that this round has ended up even worse than our previous 😢.

I’m booked for a day 2 transfer tomorrow.

Hi Jen - I don't have any stories, but just to say I really empathise, we also had an awful round and we also only have one fertilised egg after our collection on Monday (though my clinic is determined to transfer on day 5, hoping it makes it). Wishing you lots and lots of luck xx

I havent personally but a friend of mine had 1 egg collected, it fertilised and they transferred it on day 2 and that was successful 😊

Day 2 transfers used to be the norm before technology improved and it was possible to culture embryos to day 5 blastocysts. Culturing to day 5 does mean better success rates but it’s only really useful if you have a few embryos in the running and to give the embryologists more information about how your embryos respond (ie male factor often kicks in after day 3)

If you’ve just got the 1 then better in than out!

I definitely feel more comfortable knowing it’s inside me rather than the lab. Just seems such a low chance of success. Don’t want to hope too much as the disappointment is so crushing. But I do need to remember we’re still in the game. Here’s hoping it makes it until tomorrow 🤞🙏

I had a 2 day transfer and he’s now my 16month old! I had 14 eggs and only 1 fertilised. Was gutted. Turns out I didn’t need to be.

I’m now trying again and in the torturous 2ww. Xxx

Transfer was fine. Day 2 embie was good quality, as much as they can ascertain at day 2! Just hoping it’s still growing inside 🤞. How was yours?

Yes!! I gave birth to my 2dt and only embryo on 27th August. I had absolutely no hope but our embryo became our little boy. Hang in there!! Thinking of you xx

BFN sadly. And then a 3rd failed cycle in Feb but it was much better. 16 eggs and 9 embryos but all abnormal (we did PGS). We’re going to donor eggs now

Oh gosh, I'm sorry to hear that. I've never tried to do a transfer so I have experience of this, but can imagine how tough it's been. Donor eggs sounds like a great thing to look into, wish you all the luck with it x

Mine is a 2day transfer- my first ivf. I am 10days post transfer still BFN . Test date is in 2 days though—-not sure if should keep hopes high?

10 days post 2dt is equivalent to 7 days post 5dt so it’s very early! Still hope. Even day 12 post 2dt is only day 9 post 5dt. Definitely still hope but prepare for the worst 😢. It’s awful xx
