Hi all so those who know about my egg collection yesterday... all went well no issues
8 eggs collected
6 suitable for fertilisation
3 fertilised and made it through the night
Clinic is talking about a 3 day transfer I’ve never had this before always had 5 day in all of my 6 transfers previously which have all been failed cycles
Anyone had 3day transfer and got a positive from this?? As I’m hearing so many negative things and was told the chances of implantation are a lot lower than a 5 day transfer?
Thanks Anna xx

Hey lovely, if you don’t have lots of embies, I would 100% have the 3 day put in, maybe two. It’s not that they are negatively affected by putting them in on day 3, more that people take them to day 5 to see if they even make it. I imagine success rates may be lower because obviously plenty don’t make it to day 5, but that’s only because they were never going to make it anyway, not because they were transferred on day 3! If you don’t have lots, they really are better in than out, so I would say get them back where they belong ASAP. Massive good luck! Do a transfer and think positive! (I’d say two, depending on quality on day 3!) xx
Hi Anna, just seen this post 🥰 Glad it went well! What I have read on this forum is exactly what Orla said in her reply - so hopefully one of those embryos are meant to be and will get snug!! 🤞🤞🤞 I really, really wish you all the best!
100% agree with Orla too! I’ve been on this forum YEARS and have seen loads of day 3 transfer successes. Our clinic only take you to day 5 if you have more than 4 embryos. They are definitely better off back inside you so I would go for it and not hesitate xx
My best friend had 3 IVF cycles - first two were 5 day transfers but sadly failed. She then had a TWO day transfer and now has a lovely little daughter 😁 I was surprised about a 3 day transfer but my clinic said my embryos were better off in their natural environment. Lots and lots of luck ✨ xxx
Agree with all comments. Day 3 will give you a chance, no day 5 gives you zero chance. If you have less than 2-3 good quality day 3 it’s better to implant at day 3.
I hope it’s my time although waiting for the dreaded call tomorrow to see how our 3 embryos have done I’m feeling quite negative about them calling xxx
