Should I stop meds now? HCG 57 14dp5dt

Me again… Feeling quite lost here, and having a bit of a debate in my head so hoping for some advice or stories..

Got a faint line on 6dpt...

HCG was only 42 on 10dpt

then 45 on 12dpt

and today 57 14dpt

Everything is pointing to a chemical..or possible ectopic? So can I stop the meds?

Any experience/advice on this?

Thanks!

Sorry you’re having a stressful time. Appreciate those results must feel confusing and worrying. What have your clinic advised you?

Do you mean you’re thinking of stopping progesterone? I personally wouldn’t do that without medical advice. Ive definitely seen women in these forums who’ve had slow rising HCG end up with viable pregnancies. At this stage there’s a lot of uncertainty and hard as it is, only time will tell. But you should probably wait to get a medical opinion before stopping medication.

With you all the best x

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Yes, I’m taking progesterone and estrogen.

My clinic is in Prague, they advised to seek specialist advice and to continue meds. I will prolly need to get a referral to see EPU from GP, but that can’t happen until Tuesday now given the bank holiday. I’m just so undecided with the meds for now: Is there any point taking them given my figures?

I would normally start bleeding from day 12 (my previous chemicals) but I still have zero symptoms so almost want to stop meds so I can bleed.

Ah I see that’s really tough. But even if you went to an EPU now they might struggle to confirm anything as quite early to show on a scan, so waiting for a few more days might be a good idea anyway?

Yes, I suppose so. Thank you.

hi there, doctors typically only advise patients to stop meds when the numbers decline, so I wouldn’t stop just yet if I were you xx

Sorry this is hard. I've been where you are several times. I know it feels pointless but I think you should keep taking the meds until you are told to stop - I've been advised by my clinic, GP and EPU on different occasions when they are comfortable it's not viable and it's OK to stop. If the HCG is rising even a little I suspect you will be told to wait until it stops/declines or after a week or so has elapsed. It's a horrible limbo and I get that you just want this over with if it's not viable but just because there is a chance it is, and you may not have to wait too long, it's worth continuing - even for your sanity as you may end up regretting stopping now and drive yourself crazy with what ifs whereas if the doctors confirm then at least you know.

hi VeeVee…I had zero symptoms and very low rising HCG. Keep going with the meds. Wishing you all the best!

Hi Sansan, how many days past are you and what is your HCG level? I think I will continue until tmr (16dpt) and take another HPT on Monday morning and see if the line lightens or darkens..

All the best to you too!

Hi, not much experience or advice but just wanted to say I’m thinking of you - how are you getting on?

Hi Livinginoz, thanks for your message. I'm not sure what is going on atm and am trying to get seen by the early pregnancy unit. It's a challenge trying to get an appointment as my fertility treatment is abroad and my GP has not gotten back with a referral.

I took a CB digital yesterday and it's still only reading 1-2 weeks so I know it's definitely not viable.

My fertility clinic has provided a letter of recommendation asking me to get a scan today for suspected ectopic. I have no symptoms so far.

I’m really sorry to hear that, have you managed to get a scan? Thinking of you! X

Not yet, managed to finally get seen by the Early Pregnancy Unit yesterday evening. Held back tears as I sat there..I thought I was over it as I've been through it before. It does not get easier. My HCG has gone up again to 69.. I'm just waiting to hear back from them to let me know when to go in for a scan.
