So after my blood test this morning with the nurse who asked why on earth I wanted a blood test when I had a positive pregnancy test at day 10 🤪🤯...... felt like asking was I not in the ivf clinic .... WHERE EVERY WOMAN IS JUST NOT EXPECTING ALL THINGS POSITIVE EVER???!!!!

Silly woman!🤬

So when the nurse just called to tell me I couldn’t even listen properly 😂🤪🤣 bloods are definitely 1170 something . I asked was that ok and she said anything over 25 was pregnant and just stay positive.😳

Feels a tiny bit more real.🤪😚

I asked about staying on the progesterone and she said I didn’t need to take anymore than was

In the box of 15 and to let my body kick in and do the rest. Just to take my folic acid etc 🧐

I have a box of 15? What should I do????? All advice welcome . 🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐

I’m not sure how to do this next stage. I only know how not to be pregnant ( that word flips my tummy)🤩🤪

Love and hugs to you all today! It’s been a

Busy few weeks for lots of us. Hope you are all

Ok with whatever your day is throwing at ya.

💐💐💐💖💖💖💖

Be kind to yourself . 😘

Thanks your support as always ivf sisters🙏🏻💐

Hugs😘

Hi lovely! Excellent news about your BETA, I hope you're getting your head around things now eeekkk!! 🤯

Re: Progesterone, I wrote a post last year as I was extremely nervous about coming off them, I was on 3 a day. When I was told I didn't need to be on them anymore I panicked, so I used what I had left and 'weaned' off them. I think I was just nervous that my body wouldn't do its thing but it turned out fine 🥰

RhinoCat in reply toKayCan

Thanks KayCan, I’m afraid to enjoy it in case it’s over tomorrow but I just need to wise up 🤣 if I take all I have I’ll be 6 weeks and 6 days so.... maybe that’ll be enough ?

KayCan profile image
KayCan in reply toRhinoCat

You just have to take 1 step at a time. Each week was a milestone, then I thought 'I am actually doing this' 💗

You'll laugh when I say I made it to my 12 week scan before I ran out of pessaries 🤦🏼‍♀️ but yeah just wean off what you have 🙂

RhinoCat profile image
RhinoCat in reply toKayCan

That’s exactly what I’ll just have to do! One step at a time! And hopefully it’ll be ok.

I’m only on one at night , how shall

I wean ?

KayCan profile image
KayCan in reply toRhinoCat

I'd maybe do one every 36 hours then every 48 hours till they're gone?

Hi RhinoCat,

Awesome numbers!! Mine was 1000 at 13dp5dt so all good signs 😊

Personally I would push to stay on progesterone. I know some clinics don’t think you need it with a fresh transfer but I wouldn’t want to take the risk as you’ve fought so hard to get here. The majority do keep you on it so I’d use that as your argument. What progesterone are you on?xx

RhinoCat profile image
RhinoCat in reply toKiboXX

Thanks Kibo, I’m on crinone just. She checked and said their protocol is not past the two weeks for a fresh transfer . I had extra from failed cycle so I’ve enough to take me to 6 weeks and 6 days. I was pushy with her but she said I didn’t need it as I’d had a fresh transfer and my body will do its job . I feel nervous about that though? I don’t trust my almost 39 year old body ????

RhinoCat profile image
RhinoCat in reply toKiboXX

I honestly don’t know what number she said it could have been 1700 but all I heard was her say it’s well over 1000. Bloods were taken at 7.45 so hopefully a positive sign for now.

KiboXX profile image
KiboXX in reply toRhinoCat

Both clinics I’ve used keep you on it until 12 week regardless of fresh or frozen so it definitely won’t hurt you if you have more you can take. You can’t take too much from what I’ve read but you can not have enough xx

RhinoCat profile image
RhinoCat in reply toKiboXX

Yeah I’ve read about it too and most people have you on it for 12 weeks. I read an medical article today which concluded that for fresh ivf transfer it didn’t impact outcome if stopped after positive test . Think I’ll finish mine . Maybe do one more week of it then every other day for last bit or something .

RhinoCat profile image
RhinoCat in reply toRhinoCat

I just take one gel at night (crinone 8%) so not a mega dose anyway I don’t think 🤔

That's really great news Rhinocat!! Cant really help with the progesterone thing....yours if a bit diff to mine and on an FET I'd be on it right up until 12wks.xxx

RhinoCat profile image
RhinoCat in reply toCinderella5

Yeah that’s what nurse said is only be on it if it was a FET . Not sure what to do if I’ve 15 left? Mmmmm not sure it would do any harm would it?

Cinderella5 profile image
Cinderella5 in reply toRhinoCat

They must be pretty confident all will be ok if they have said to stop but I understand why you would feel nervous about stopping them. Good luck lovely and keep us posted.xxx

Congrats, sounds like HCG levels are increasing. I’ve always been advised that my progesterone will be continued to week 10 or 12. So confusing that clinics do things slightly differently. I’m on Ustrogestan pessaries and progynova tablets.

RhinoCat profile image
RhinoCat in reply toDaffodils1

Mmmmm yeah, I had 12mm triple lining etc and fresh 5 day transfer and she said their clinic is part of a huge group of clinics and none of them do it. She said it would only be useful to do progesterone levels if I knew normal ?£ bit late for that now .

Great result! 🥰

My clinic have said to stay on progesterone until 12 weeks - that’s their standard & makes me feel better.

Have you booked your scan? 😍 xx

RhinoCat profile image
RhinoCat in reply toCLDxxx

Thanks 💐

Can’t go against clinic if they won’t write the scripts 😂 was only on low dose anyway. One gel at night. It would make me feel better but they’re not listening 🤪

Booked in for scan on 18th August (think I’ll be 6 weeks and 6 days I think 🤔)

CLDxxx profile image
CLDxxx in reply toRhinoCat

I think as it’s standard at mine it doesn’t mean much really as it’s not specific per person!

Ahh same as I was at my scan. How exciting 🤗 xx

Yeah, a fresh. A take one pessary in the morning and one in the evening. I think it’s 400mg xx

Sounds like a great number RhinoCat! 💕 It's horrible when you have to consider stopping progesterone, as much as I hated them they did alleviate some anxiety! I was on a lot to start with because I had an early bleed to then gradually reduced them by week 12. One thing that helped me was keeping some spares so that if I stopped and had any bleeding at least I had an emergency back up. Maybe towards the end you could do one day on, one day off? If you feel anxious about it though your clinic should be able to prescribe you more. My doc let me stay on a higher dose for a bit purely because the thought of reducing them made me anxious.

I hope you can start to relax and enjoy your pregnancy very soon - it all gets very magical after the scan ☺️ Xx

RhinoCat in reply toKeepingfaith85

I’ll maybe email again and explain my anxiety. That’s a good idea plus it’s totally true!

I would take progesterone till 12 weeks for sure! But that’s me with. 6 miscarriages :-)

RhinoCat profile image
RhinoCat in reply toCorchi

I’m so scared right now. Husband says to just finish what I have and trust the clinic 😳 problem

Is I don’t have extra to take

Corchi profile image
Corchi in reply toRhinoCat

Doesn’t do harm though. It only thickens lining and makes baby snug but it’s totally your call of course

Sorax profile image

Congrats!!! Just do as your clinic say with the progesterone every clinic is different they no you best😊 just enjoy it now being med free and waiting for the scan it’s so exciting! I also still took it easy your body has been through a lot so just look after yourself and enjoy 🥰 stay off google haha xxxx

Congratulations! That’s great news! Fingers crossed for you. I stayed on progesterone until 12 weeks! I think they said it’s more for patients reassurance more than anything else after 6 weeks. I personally would take as long as possible (even if it’s for reassurance).

Wow. Great news 😊🤗 i am delighted for you 😊 Just go with your instincts. Silly nurse. Like it doesn't take long to take a blood test so she should just have taken it for reassurance. You were just right to ask her. Treat yourself to something nice and take care of yourself. Xx
