delayed period after progynova with cancelled donor embryo transfer

I am hoping to have a donor egg embryo IVF soon at a clinic in Spain. The clinic do mock cycles to check how your body responds to the drugs so that they can get the timing right for the real transfer as they do a fresh transfer. I was on 8mg a day from the first day of my period and had a scan to check the thickness of my lining at day 14. It had only got to 5mm so the clinic cancelled the cycle and have recommended a hysteroscopy to rule out any issues. My question is- how long will it take for my period to start again? I can’t do anything till then and it’s already 7 days late. I was thinking I could be pregnant- but then after lots of googling realised I can’t be as the progynova would have stopped ovulation. I’m really annoyed the clinic didn’t warn me that my natural would be messed up by this hormone, I had thought it was just to thicken the lining. I also have horrible stomach cramps like period pain which have lasted 7 days now.

I’m afraid I’m not sure but you have my sympathies as I’m in a similar boat…7 days Ganirelix alongside Progynova (and latterly estrogen patches too), FET cancelled as my lining only got to 6.7mm, then down to 6.2mm and then 5mm so missed the boat . Currently 12 days late and the only advice my clinic has is they ‘wouldn’t be surprised’ if bleed was delayed.

It’s so sad as no one had explained to me that the estrogen would prevent my ovulation so after a week delay I’d started thinking a miracle had happened and I was pregnant. I feel absolutely exhausted and destroyed by this whole process.

I’m so sorry, I get exactly what you mean. It crossed my mind too and then you realise it’s a ‘wasted’ month.

This is a long slog but we keep going ❤️
